If you are able to inspect the exhaust first, buy it. Check the welds very closely and see if you can hit them up for a leak-free guarantee.

If you aren't buying an exhaust and was asking generally, then I always try used in the first instance. Everything else on your car is used! A strut brace doesn't exactly wear out. You can test AFMs and other electrical kit. You know what I mean? I was forced to buy a new indicator as there were none going used at the time - now they don't match as original one looks more brown than orange! :woot:

Try Zac/Slidewize for used gear on YahooJP. Most items can be purchased and shipped here for less than going to a wreckers/parts store.

I generally steer clear of 2nd hand electronic products unless advertised as brand new or as new...wherever possible if the seller is in same state you can inspect b4 purchasing.

I've bought heaps of 2nd hand parts online or through importers eg: catback exhausts, wheels, misc parts....

You just need to find a reputable seller and someone that can accurately describe the condition of the 2nd hand product you are buying. As always, there is an element of risk on the buyers end....but if everything is as described and you are happy with it, at the end of the day you save heaps off retail prices...

My 2c..
