As the ex owner of those plates for many years i will let you know they were paid for however the car hasnt been registered for past 3yrs while ive been working on an upgrade package.I had in fact put the plates up for sale but no one as usual was willing to spend any money on their cars so we handed them back to transport sa, and i kept the originals as a keep sake and have another in mind when it gets returned to the road---if ever!

So the 'upgrade' package is 100% complete? ;)

I remember some years ago before Julie had the bubs you were telling me about it.

Having "been there", i could confidently say that the package is NEVER complete :(. Some may decide (be forced) to stop spending money on their cars, but always have something else they wish they could do :P

Al, yes... I'm still in the process of building mine up slowly, priority's change when little bubs come along. :P

With regards to 100% complete.. I was suggestiong did you end up going through with the engineering process Kym?

I think i could be happy with my car, if i got it to the point where i wont have to upgrade anything else. Except maintenance items of course...

Untill you are at that point you can't really say :yes:

I reached my acheivement goals many times, then thought of other things to do, guess i have too much time to think while driving between jobs :D.

Yeah i thought it seemed strange when they said the plates were available, so i jumped at the chance! I guessed that the previous owner ( obviously you) had lapsed, and handed them back in!

So hows your upgrade package going? what model skyline you own?

As others have said before nice looking car Adam, i have a ser ii 1996 skyline(r33) it was in fact the ist one sold here in s.a. and was a fairly rare car when we bought it.It was purchased with just under 20k kms on it and it was picked from main nth nissan on new years eve nearly 9yrs ago!(needlessly we didnt need a party to go to that nite ---we just cruised untill 4am!!!

unfortunately the car has only progressed a little since i spoke to you guys all that time ago- ive relocated the brake lines,made the false firewall,had a custom air box manufactured that takes a huge k&n pad filter,had the gearbox rebuilt and blue printed by Dale at K&A,i had the alt rebuilt, also the power steer pump as well as i wanted to make a custom pulley set and couldnt seperate the shaft so had it stripped down returned the pump shaft to accept a new pulley and had it re assembled to as new,also made the pulley set,as you know the motor is complete(rb30 block,crank,rods ,pistons stud kit top and bot,r34 head-head job vavles 272 cams ,ni oil pump,stainless extr,gt30 turbo,48 mmwastegate,type r blow off valve,greedy inlet manifold(spent over a 100 hrs hand polishing it [and turbo housing] with 100mm sub zero throttle body.

Unfortunately ive fallen on tough times in the past year as my take home pay has been reduced by nearly 30k and sue has been very ill for many months(on the mend now) so not much more has been done and after spending nearly 30k on motor and ancillaries ive contenplated selling off the package and putting back the orig motor as its only done 80k and just getting the car any bloody car back on the road (havnt had a car at all for the past 13wks- and now back on the bike!)

But will hang in there a little longer as im about to change jobs so things may turn for the better, will be nice to catch up with you guys in the near future...

      Rear doors central locking wiring removed and cleaned. See the first 8sec video of when it’s filled with river silt. its a snip of what I’m up against. front and rear doors complete now.       There aren't boost creep issues, it's not engineered around the restriction of the cats but if you haven't tuned the engine a full decat + exhaust can flow enough air to run off the end of the OEM load scales and you will get a pretty substantial reduction in ignition timing as a result. I recommend using DFCO, avoiding ignition cut limiters, and avoiding popcorn tunes along with running a cat unless you enjoy a perpetually soot-covered and potentially burnt bumper.

      Small update, it's been slow moving over the Christmas period with money having to go everywhere thats not my car 😅. I got myself a little present to myself from "santa" in the form of some tidy radiator mounts from fitmint automotive to get rid of the stock ones that look like they have been in an accident before and then straightened by a caveman. I know I should've replaced the rubber bush at the same time but I had no idea how bad they were until I was replacing the mounts. Decided to order their dash mat while I was at it as I feel like I am lucky enough to have a pretty decent condition dash and I don't want to risk it being ruined while it's parked in the aussie sun while I'm at work. I have found another electrical fault to add to the evergrowing list to eventually chase down. Every time I replace my taillight globe it blows within a day of use, I'm starting to think my life would be easier if I took a few minutes to learn how to use  a multimeter 😂.   Had some luck with finding a series 2 drivers headlight on marketplace to replace my mismatched series 1 headlight, a subtle difference but it's nice to have a matching set of lights now.   I returned to the air con problem due to being sick of this summer heat, found a good condition condenser to replace my leaking one! I got it in the car and was happy when I got the thumbs up that the system was now holding gas. Sadly the compressor is not kicking in for some reason, we even tried branching the relay in the fuse box. I have tried to do some research on the issue with no clear understanding of what the fix is, so for now it will be placed on the backburner until I can be bothered to look into the wiring to the compressor. The last small mods I have done was cutting the horizontal vents out of the front bar, not really in a functional airflow sense but I just think it looks better as I am not a fan of the series 2 bar. I also switched the shift knob out for a hosoboyo aluminium grex style one, it has a really nice more direct driving feel than the outdated rubbery oem one. Thirdly, I chucked on one of the ebay bonnet strut kits. The fitment is decent and they seem to work fairly well. They have only given out once while the car was parked facing downhill, I think if I was working under the bonnet I would still put the oem hood stay up to be precautionary as to avoid getting a speedy concussion.

      Got pneumonia, haven’t played with her in a while, but I’m back now. Previous owners cut bonnet pins into the bonnet. My choice try find a replacement or spend $15 get some pins myself to cover up. Now only one small hole to cover. looks shit now, but when the bonnet is red again. Be good 🤞

      No R32 GTSt had 15" wheels. 205/55-16 was standard GTSt fare. 4.36:1 is standard R32 turbo auto diff. I think the manual was too, not 4.11. 4.11 and 4.08 were R33 namual and auto respectively.
