Having attached the hose to the carbon canister the car was fine... for a short time.

Now the car sometimes stalls upon acceleration, i give it some and then the car just stalls... also spluttered today upon acceleration after I turned it back on. There is also destinctive sulpher smell after the car stalls.

I have checked the following:

Coil packs are clean and silver on the inside, all 6 of them.

Installed iridium NGK spark plugs 2 weeks ago.

Checked AFM and its clean on the inside (didnt check the electric internals though)

Fuel filter is also OK.

I am really desperate to get my car fixed as its starting to put me off the whole import scene and Im starting to curse the day I bought my first skyline... its probably a small problem but I have exhausted all my options... Im even willing to take it to Nissan dealer and have them hook it up to a machine to see of any error codes. The only problem is Im not made of money and on a tight budget atm.

Can someone plz advice me what else could be causing the stalling and spluttering of the car as I have NFI.

PS the car is stock! Only has high flow GTR cat. Stock air box, stock BOV etc.

PPS theres also a smell of petrol when I start the car, the smell lasts for a few seconds, this came up only after inspecting the fuel filter... but the hoses seem to be intact.

Cheers!

It sounds a bit like an air leak. Have you checked all of the intake hoses for any loose connections or splits. Sometimes they can be hard to spot as they only come apart under engine load. Check that you BOV isnt leaking any air also. Another option might even be a rooted CAT in the exhaust. Unfortunatley once you exhaust all the simpler options, its time for a trip to your mechanic...

Good luck

Correct me if i'm wrong, i reckon the 'POP' sound coming from your exhaust sounds like you are running rich. Where the 'POP' sound come from is the detonation of excess fuel.

I suggest you bring your car to the mechanic, ask them to thoroughly check through all the fuel lines, from fuel tank to your engine.

Check the stock BOV and see if it has been installed and tightened properly

If you are worried about your AFM, just buy a can of Contact Cleaner and give a spray to the inside. DO NOT at anytime touch those sensors.
