wastegate actuator rod shouldnt budge unless you're pulling quite hard.

the backfiring noise is normal. when you BOV vents, it vents out air that is supposed to go into your combustion chamber. this causes the a/f to richen up at that point. the richer mix then ignites in your exhaust causing a loud pop.

its probably air being pushed back onto your turbo blades. aftermarket BOV's usually have harder springs which will sometimes stop the valve from opening under normal driving with standard boost.

if your BOV is adjustable, try putting it on the loosest setting, go for a drive then get back to us.

it seems to be ok now for some reason. lol my line is quite a freak car really. does anyone kno how to tell the difference between a r32 standard turbo an a r33 one just by looking at it, an are standard 32 turbos supposed to hit full boost a 4grand?

I think the R33 turbo is noticeably bigger, and the markings on them would tell you which is which.

The bigger turbo would probably lag longer, although it is ball-bearing and ceramic exhaust wheel, i'm not sure it would make up for the smaller motor.

So, at a guess, with a decent exhaust/dump, it probably SHOULD fully spool to 7psi or whatever by 4000 (under load at least)

judging by your avatar, i could guess that the problem is that bigass bov you have on there. causing overfueling when you lift off, regarding actuator rod, they arnt very easy to move by hand, go get some multigrips.

why is it that smart ass's like u come n here an an cause sh^t, the BOV aint that big mate.

these are serious questions an id appreciate serious answers if not dont bother posting,

he's actually quite correct regarding the BOV.. ALOT of people have problems with their cars stalling and backfiring because of them.. So maybe think before having a go at people..

Does it do it when the car is warmed up - all the time.. or just intermittently??
