Quinny
I got an Exedy Heavy Duty clutch for $420 from Martins Clutch & Brake in Campbelltown. The cost for installation is pretty hefty, my mechanic quoted me 5 hours, and I can see why. I ended up doing it with the help of a couple of mates, took us 3 days, it is a mission of a job.If you pay someone to do it, expect to pay upwards of $400. BL01
If i'm not wrong, the 32 GTR clutch is the 'Pull Type' not the normal 'Push Type' like the 33 GTST. Pull Type clutches will cost about minimum $700ish for a basic one. OZ_Pomy
i just fitted one into my sons car with his help in a r33 gtst it was one of the clutches brought in here with a group buy. actually fitting time took us about 4 hrs total had to wait a day while getting flyweel machined.hardest part of the job was getting the top bolt of the starter moter altho it went back on easy lol . 350 to 400 bucks sounds about right if there machining the flywheel as well .and while you have it all apart check ya rear main seal as well may as well do it if it looks suss. gearbox took about 3.8 litres of fresh oil as well good luck with it cheers Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/122795-clutch-slipping-badly/#findComment-2270284 Share on other sites

Chris If yours is a 33 GTST, then you are looking at 5 hours labour - about $350- 450 depending on your mechanic. Hence the reason I did mine myself. You machine the flywheel and do the rear main seal? Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/122795-clutch-slipping-badly/#findComment-2271358 Share on other sites

Quinny
You machine the flywheel and do the rear main seal? The flywheel cost $44 to get machined, we checked the rear main and it looked ok so didn't bother changing it. Just changed the flywheel, clutch plate, pressure plate, thrustbearing and gearbox oil. Like I said before, if you are doing it yourself it is a mission. We didn't have a hoist or anything, just the car on stands and 2 jacks to lift the gearbox. Quinny
yea thanks for al the comments guys just suks a gota do a clutch already only had the car since saturday and im abit short on cash after just buying it and i wana be able to b able to drive it properly but the clutch is rooted wasnt that great wen i got it and after a few nice launches it was all over lol I know how you feel, mine went a week after I got it too. alphanumeric: If you have budgeted $400 to put the clutch in, it will probably go over, but not by much. My mechanic quoted me 5 hours, which was $400, but that was an estimate, could be a little more or less, depending on how good your mech is at doing them. The cost of the flywheel machining will probably put it over, but it will be close. If you are doing the rear main as well, your budget will explode big time. kudos.motorsports
I can offer you an Exedy Heavy Duty Cushion Button Kit for $570.50 delivered, for details on this clutch click here. Also I would be questioning your mechanics quote of 5 hours, as I know it's only a 2 hour job, 3 tops if something does not cooperate. dano4127
so what do you expect to pay to have a clutch fitted, i have been quoted $440 that includes getting the flywheel machined the price seems ok but mabye a little high if it really is just a 2 hour job for a good mechanic or is that what mechanics are charging at the moment? $200 per hour? You should be able to get it changed for under 1k. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/122795-clutch-slipping-badly/#findComment-2439243 Share on other sites
