Cai Mod For Standard R34 Gtt Airbox

I have an R34 GTT with the standard airbox in place and just put a Nismo S Tune Panel Filter. Has anyone done any modifications to the standard airbox to get more cold air induction straight to the panel filter? If so would love to see what you did.

Theres not much you can do with the standard box.

maybe if you have a FMIC, you can use the holes from the standard SMIC to run a pipe directly into the box.

I have a GTT with the standard SMIC and hav a pod with custom box that uses the standard snorkel.

looks good and is more effective because pod is not as restrictive as panel filter.

I just cut a hole on the front o my air box lid...then took out the rubber strip above the headlights..this was a R33 BTW but it would work on both

I have the same Nismo panel filter and have 255rwkw at 0.9 bar so it's not restrictive. The bonnet may be an issue though. I am waiting for an opportunity to do a power run with bonnet down as I think there may be some restriction there. Not sure.

I have got plans for when I get a cf bonnet. I will be making a hole just behind the headlight with an electrically operated sliding flap and a duct to the front of the airbox. The flap will be operated by an electric door lock actuator and controlled from in the cabin.
