hi guys

does anyone know if a r33 series2 front bar will fit straight onto a series1

thx :P

hi Ricos

R33 S2 frontbar will fit straight onto a s1 r33. the only thing which you will need to do it cut off the plugs for the indicator/fog lights and put ur s1 plugs on them..

i was running a s2 r33 frontbar on my s1, i found it fitted ok but due to the s2 having different headlights it didnt line up 100% still look good from far :(

Michael, wat didnt line up 100%, wouldnt it line up n e way as the bar is symetrical :S

which parts didnt line up? could u explain a lil more..thx bud:)

WB thx

Pretty sure you don't need to change guards. The headlights are different but not around the part connecting to the guards.

Without a doubt you don't need to change guards. They are exactly the same.

As previously said, front bar will fit with series I lights and bonnet, but it will look wrong as the series II lights are slimmer. So to make it right, you need series II headlights.

Series I bonnet and grill doesn't go with series II headlights, so you also need series II bonnet and grill.

I have this done to my R33.

If you're gonna do it, do the lot.

Edit: added a couple of pics which i just ran out the front and took of my SI - SII.

basicly the frontbar sit in and the headlights and grill stick out abit.. depends how u mount it will depends how good or shit it will look.. i did about 5min job mounting it and it turn out not soo bad

That's a 4 door front bar - 2 door front bar has different fog/indicators.

Cheers

Thx for all the post guys...i understand now i cant have a series 2 bar without changing the whole bloody front end haha oh well...

i wanted to ditch my series1 bar cause i want to get a cooler and a diffr front bar...

can anyone suggest a place that sells front bars for series 1 ? something not so stocky as series 1 but nothing to riced up :P

all help appreciated :O

well to get it to fit properly, once the front bar is on there are gaps under the lights and were it meets at the guards. so if you do change the headlights so you dont have gaps , you then need the grill and bonnet, it isnt as cheap as you think to do this and make it look clean.

but for a half assed job you can get away with it if you really want it

Where are you in Aus? You can try places like Justjap.com or nismo.com.au or ask around in the state forums as they will probably know places to buy frontbars/bodykits in your area.

Depends on your personal preference for frontbars, I personally am not a fan of the s2 frontbar althugh s2 bonnet & headlights look tough. A lot of r33 owners seem to go for the 400r style frontbars & I've seen a few Trust frontbars on r33's in my area.

i picked up this front bar from a wreckers in brisbane for $110. its a bomex copy and it is fibreglass and was split down one side. but i fixed it up, slapped a coat of paint on it, and this is the finished properly. all up cost me about $150. the other thing you could do is get one of the front bars people refer to as type m. then cut the center out. a lot of people have done this. have a look in people's avitars. some have a pic of it. can't think who though.

on a side note, how many of you have chrome grills and chrome headlights? i have them but haven't seen very many other cars with them. my car is a series 1.5 (made october 95) and has the series 2 motor and a few other odd things. my power window switch is different to my mates (his was made august 95).

    • Looking for a S2 front grill for an R34 GT/GTT Doesn’t have to be in excellent condition as I’m looking to paint it. Would preferred if the clips were around.    The $500 this marketplace guy is asking sounds ridiculous in my opinion.
    • Nah, just take the other one off too
    • A mini mini-gun.
    • Oh yeah forgot to also mention need to also unplug the IACV as well. Thanks for the reminder @MBS206 Unplugging the TPS takes it out of closed loop so you're able to screw down the IACV without the ECU trying to add/subtract timing to maintain the idle (not sure PowerFC can even do this, but Nistune and the OEM definitely does)
    • For sale is my 1999 Nissan Skyline R34 GT-T, tuned to 234 kW / 313 hp. I've had the car for a few years as my daily driver. The car is original (as far as Skylines go), with only a few minor upgrades to enhance performance and driving experience, as typical for such a car of its age. Overall, it is in great condition with no body rust, thanks to its earlier import date. It features a top-notch security system (not literally, but it's great!) with remote start and still functional 4-wheel steering via HICAS. It comes with several performance and handling upgrades, including:     Hypergear 450HP Turbocharger running 17 PSI boost, installed mid-2021 by Jaustech     550cc injectors     Nistune ECU     Front-Mount Return-Flow Intercooler     X-Force Stainless Steel Exhaust     Upgraded engine mounts     Bottom end bearings replaced     BC Coilovers     Lenso DR1 rims     Bridgestone Potenza Adrenalin RE003 TL 245/40R18 97W tires, fitted early 2023 The interior is mostly stock, with a few additions:     Viper Satellite Tracking System with remote start     Bluetooth Double-Din Touchscreen Head Unit     Steering wheel cover Cons:     A few paint imperfections here and there     Driver’s seat shows more wear than the others. It's not torn at all, but I've added a seat cover to protect its condition. I also have a CarVX Vehicle History report available for serious buyers, so you don’t need to purchase it yourself. Price: $26,000 ONO.
