Ok, I have noticed a little bit of interest in track days of late so I just thought I would let everyone know that on the 1st of July I will be heading down to QR with a few other people for the Saturday Afternoon Sprints at QR. This is the perfect time of year for all those who are scared of hurting their cars, it won't get any cooler out at Ipswich. Its a great afternoon out, and you get to give you and your car a real workout without breaking the law. As long as your car is in good mechanical order you will have a ball, you don't need a track dedicated machine to enjoy the day. Hell my car would be flat out pushing 160rwkw! :P

Hope to see some new faces out there!

well, my brakes are on (i've still gotta get them sorted though... rears are locking up with more than about 1/2 pedal pressure) and i've got the thurs/friday off before then as well, so i'll hopefully be able to do a service, including new diff and gearbox oil :whistling:

in other words, i am trying to make it out to this one!

Woah, I just realised the schedule I have just given myself, QR track days on the 1st and 4th, and Skidpan/LVMA day on the 8th!!! Oh well, gotta make the most of the cooler weather.

All info can be found here:- http://www.queenslandraceway.com.au/

You will need the usual wrist to ankle clothing, helmut (can be hired there), AASA licence (can get on the day, $55 annual fee) and a roadworthy car of course. The cost is $95 or if you prepay its $75.

Hope to see you all there!

Thats the link to how it all works for anyone who doesnt know (like I did :spank: ) Seems a good format.

Not a hope getting to this one, but Id hope by the next round I should be well and truly ready to take on the track. Both skills and car.

Just picked up my freshly re-built Nismo single plate clutch. . . . .gets fitted on Tuesday, just in time >_<

I have been out there before when they have the motorkana in the carpark, its good. Gives you something to watch between runs. :ermm:

we should be out there with the 33 race car. Assuming we get the custom swaybar intime. It will be good to see more skylines out there, besides the usual 2 or 3, and million wrxs.

Heres a crappy photo of our car...if you see us come have a chat. Dont ask about the stickers...my old man chose them.

We need more skylines in the sprints and top gear racing...need to overpopulate everything >_<

I wish we could say that....but they seem to have this amazing ability to rattle off extremely good times....drives you insane. You do a 59 round the sprint circuit and then they come round and go yeh...had abit of a tough one but i managed a 56....then your jaw hits the ground....shit >_< 3 seconds faster....well we got a suprise for them now hehe.

so far my list is:

Get another wheel nut... i'm missing 1

New Engine Oil (Undecided what to use yet)

New Oil Filter (Ryco)

New Spark Plugs (NGK Coppers)

Clean Air Filter

New Gearbox Oil (Redline)

New Diff Oil (Redline)

Flush/Bleed Brake Fluid (RBF600)

Fix Brake Problem (THIS ONE IS A BIG MUST!!!!!)

Fit new Steering Rack Ends

Get Wheel Alignment / Get suspension check to make sure all in good order

Fit New Swaybar Link Pin Bushes

Get Tyres/Rims

Make Exhaust (90 degree bend that dumps before the cat :ermm: )

Dyno Tune to check mixtures

Try and get Knock Detector to listen to while racing

Smaller Battery? (shave some more weight off)

Fit Oil Catch Can

Does anyone want to help me? >_<

    • Um.... This is not easy. I will have a fiddle with it, but make no promises. I think, given the explicit resistances vs temperature, and your ECU measured voltages, it should be possible to match them up. I will do that by assuming a 5V supply from ECU to sensor, find out how much current would have to flow to produce that voltage, then use that current as a .... nah f**k. That won't work. The supply voltage is fixed, but there's nothing to say that the ECU regulates the current too. Um... I dunno. I guess there's a voltage divider setup in the ECU. As in, there's another resistance between the ECU's sense terminal and ground. That way, as the sensor resistance changes, that's how they get a floating voltage that varies with the temperature, without having to control the current. Give me a minute or 3.
    • *that* is a question for chatgpt (or someone that understands maths....but I'd try chatty). Drop them the table and ask for the formula
    • Alright. Exhaust has been looked at, and booked in 'soon'. I'm not 100% convinced it's going to be as good as possible but I'm going to go with it anyway. If I get a reasonable thing that works for 10 years I mean that's twice as long as I've lived with the current one. I have a more pressing issue. I have fixed my MPVI3 (by buying a new one). Excellently, one can wire in analog 0-5v inputs to the ECU itself. I had wideband already via Serial so I also wired it in via the direct input. The idea being I can use the standalone logging without a laptop and have Wideband data in it. The other wire I thought I'd use oil temp. This is where I've gone crazy. HPTuners requires you to implement a formula so you know how much volts = how much temp. This seems relatively simple to me. However I cannot find the scale for this anywhere on the internet, nor decipher how to figure it out without removing the sensor from the car. All I know is that voltage actually goes up as temperature goes down. I am using the actual gauge, so I can see what the temp is. The signal wire has been branched off into the MPVI3. EXAMPLE: 2.68v = 58C 2.7 = 57C 2.74v = 56C 2.8V = 54C 3.06V = 49C 3.18V = 47C 3.37V = 43C I think the gauge is 50-150C. It may be more. It may be less, because I can't find it for the love of f**k. It appears all the information about the gauges I have has been scoured from the internet, but the sender is VDO 320.021 I believe the resistance chart is this How the f**k do I convert this to a voltage? Once I have a voltage... I then have to perform this transform of said voltage to show it in the scanner: https://www.hptuners.com/help/VCM-Scanner/Content/vcm_scanner/defining_a_transform.htm @GTSBoy you're probably my only hope here TEST YOUR MIGHT
    • Here’s the updated and installed muse replica nismo ones … very happy with the outcome. Eventhough I painted my whole rear end due to my rich idle lol.
    • Hmm. I had a good look (w/o searching, because I'm not logging in) and couldn't see it either. I distinctly recall the thread, not many weeks ago. It must have been removed or perhaps put into the back section. If it was in Off Topic you should at least have been able to search it up. So if I'm not hallucinating, it is fairly decently removed.
