just a quick topic on r33 standard turbo...yeah its ceramic exhaust wheel...a turbo mech says he can replace ceramic wheel for a steel one and some other minor mods allowing up to 600hp out of it...i am a sceptic on this...he claims to do it as a "as new turbo" for 1700 bucks

comments anyone?

a 450hp high flow, yeah no probs, $1700 is a good price, 500hp high flow yeah no probs, runs gt30 internals etc, costs more than $1700 tho, but 600hp? how?

A 'genuine' 600hp isn't possible unless its a GT35r. :whistling:

A GT3040 got close on an Rb25 here in SA, it had the works on, on the engine dyno with mid 20psi something it made 580hp at the fly.

Clint was running the .82 GT3040.

It went on to make 338rwkw on a dyno dynamic once the motor was in the car. So quite a drive train loss, didn't really add up to me but its only a figure, but still its considerably higher than I've ever seen from the GT3040. No doubt running some nice fuel, it was running a Motec M800

600hp hi-flow...

i'd say impossible with the size of the R33 turbo housing.

Its not a .82 rear... and i doubt it could be machined to be even close to that.

Either way, the 600hp would probably be a mis-match anyway and hae a number of issues.

If its true ill buy 10. easier to fit one of them than to go to all this trouble. But unless its got a comp cover this big, i dont think so. Be nice to find a turbo that will flow that and be able to low mount without pulling your hair out.
