Poor Old Catalina Raceway

I went up to Katoomba to take a couple of pics of the old Catalina track yesterday incase it gets torn up before I return from the UK. It seems to be doing a fairly good job of tearing itself up... bit of a shame I think.

So for those who know of it here's a couple of pics

Well i'll be damned, didn't have a clue their was an old track up in that section of Katoomba but then again it took me 6mths to realise where the swimming/gym complex was

By the looks of those pics that track actually has a better road surface than half the side streets in the area

That was said too be an awsome track from the people I've spoken too about it. I think it was used last by the NSW Mini Club about 3 years ago.

We can all thank the do-gooder environmentalists for that track being closed down.

I heard that they had a 5 or 10year extension... so hopefully not for a few years!
