wtf is all this dust???

hmm is it only my Skyline or is other ppl having it as well. Seemz like when I park my car in my garage, the next day, i jump into my car, I get all this white dust on the dashboard and climate control etc.....how can i get rid of this??? Anyone else get this problem? Seemz like my friend Skyline also get this problem, but he doesn't park in his garage...

I'll dust my dash and the next morning there is a lot of dust. I just have a cloth in the glove box to clean it up if it starts to annoy me. I have no idea what causes it though.

Don't know what causes white dust, some ideas - could be from the air bag if its ever blown up before.

It probably just hangs around in the air and settles overnight.

In any case the solution would be to buy an air cleaner

Skylines often come with Nissan PureTron air filters. I've got a real big one - the filter is bigger than the one in a standard engine airbox. It sits on the rear shelf between the two speakers.

works well - never any dust, car smells brand new, great if there are smokers and you are non-smoking.

I get the dust problem too. No air-bag either. I just put it down to all the dust storms in Canberra of late.

Haha, how recently have you all bought your cars? i noticed when i got my from japan, when i turned the aircon on big plooms of dust came from the vents, it felt like there was a helicopter landing infront of me in a desert blowing sand at me...

but yeh, i use aircon very often, and i believe it contributes alot to the settled dust overnight

i think maybe alot of things contribute. they would collect dust in the aircon pipes during shipping, and japan is full of smoggy atmospheres, my car came from the mountains so id say it could have been dusty up there, except, my car came with snow tires!....

Most likely they are from Seats!

Seats are carrying alot of dust! when you clean the car make sure you vacume seats and test them by hitting on them b4 you clean interior!

you will not believe how much dust comes out of factory seats!

i rekon its a previous smokers car, and the dust is everywhere, i would get a full detail including steam clean or something...

i know dave took off his dash on his r33, and you could see piles of white and grey ash....

Gather up the white powder, put it in little baggies, and then stand on the street corner with a visor on sideways and a ciggie behind your ear(HAS TO BE BACKWARDS!). Sell it to the little kids. Come to think of it, that wouldnt be a bad way to import herion....

ur dust problem could be that the car was from japan->osaka floods->the cars got flooded and filled up the cars with dirt. (i know sounds far stretched)

my mate has a s15 and he bought it from osaka, full of dust in vents/seats/car etc..
