how hard is the job to do?

Can it be done with a home socket set or is there alot of f*kin around involved eg. blooded knuckles etc...?

I'm considering doing it however if its too much hassle will prob just get my mechanic to do it

There are (IIRC) 6 bolts connecting the pipe to the turbo. If you're chucking a new pipe onto a previously untouched stock turbo you will most likely have to deal with rusted bolts and you'll more than likely need to drill these rusted bolts out - that's probably the hardest part of the job

Don't let this deter you though. Lingeringsoul attacked the job himself and found it relatively easy to do and from what I know it's one of hte first jobs he's done on the car.

get under the car and undo the bracket for your front pipe first.

undoing the flange bolts where the dump meets the front pipe would be your 2nd step.

if you're handy with a tool set then it shouldnt be that much of a headache.

you might need some open ended spanners though.

i tackled most of the job with a rattle gun.

its not very hard i just changed my Dump pipe(split pipe) front pipe and hi flow, last week, soak the bolts in wd40 and you shouldnt have a problem just take it easy on the bolts as they will be rusted. my new dump pipe came with a gasket kit but the original nissan gasket is made out of metal (off the back of turbo) so just left that one as it looked like much better quality then the new one. but its best you change your front pipe/cat gaskets :P
