Hey guys, another annoying thing... i just got all 4 discs machined and fitted brand new Bendix Ultimate pads all round... its pulling up perfectly now and I love the feel of the breaks... but the front drivers side squeals under medium braking... its so annoying! Even before i changed them it never ever squealed! I tried light breaking under throttle hoping to eliminate any debris but it stops for a while then comes back when the pads cool down…

I know most of you will say Bendix are crap but i have never had any issues with them in the past.. the spare parts guy recommended Lucas Brake Pads... but i stuck to the Bendix

Any suggestions?

Hi there. I have the same problem on the front with the bendix

But only under light braking when it is raining. I recently had the

back done and asked why this happened. The guy said at some

point in time for about 8 months bendix pads that were made

in this period had this fault (nothing to do with the performance

of the pad). He said they now have fixed the problem. Not sure

if this true tho. Im still running them and they work well. Hope

this helps. :D

I have found the exact same issue on new rotors with Bendix ultimates on my R32. I spent a lot of time and consequently money trying to stop this squeeling. I have installed a shim kit etc but it's still squeeling.

Basically it seems that Bendix ultimates have changed somehow (or they manufactured SOME that were bad) and are now a pretty annoying brake pad. I'm trying to find a suitable replacement and will be asking Bendix compensate me for these faulty pads.

my experience

1. clean rotors with brake cleaner....really well

2. use shims on pads

3. use stop squeel glue on the pads

4. clean pads with brake cleaner if they get dirty too.

always be careful where you put you greasy fingers.

seems to be working well with dba rotor and utimates.....i did have them squeeling on my last brake change, so i pulled them apart....and did the above again....and been really good since.

Are the discs still above minimum thickness? I had trouble with my R33 fronts that were screaming with Bendix brakes. Tried everthing. When I took them off and was about to have them machined we found they were a long way under minimum.

By the book, there is about 2-3 mm between new and not to be machined. Put some DBA slotteds on. Screaming gone.

Ive had bendix ultimates on my fronts... I have done everything.. I'm not too bothered by it. I would never by ultimates again.. just a waste of money really.. could have spent my 80 bux better elsewhere..

By the way, the pads just glaze the rotors pretty much straight away, so your gonna get squeels, and yes i have used disc brake quiet to no avail. bendix advances all the way.. less dust, less noise, less eating away at my prescious rotors which are now way undersize.. oh well

I had nasty squeels even at low speeds and light braking.

Roughing up the pads works well (so there is no smooth flat spots where the dust gets caught)

I got a hack saw out and put light score marks diagonally along the pad.

haven't had the problem since.

well...

wont have the problem until the pads wear down so theres no score marks at least
