Red Nose Cruise Sydney- Sat. 1st July- Silverwater to Wattamolla-Royal National Park

Next Saturday marks the date of our annual Red Nose Cruise, a great fun day for all, and a chance to get out to help a great charity- sids and kids.

This cruise has been successfully run the past two years, turning out 50 odd cars and raising in excess of $1000 each time. We are hoping for a bigger turnout this year. Previously this cruise has attracted media attention from a national car magazine, as well as local newspapers.

This year the cruise will be on Saturday 1 July, and we will be heading from Silverwater to Wattamolla in the Royal National Park. Usually there is an $11 fee to enter the park, however we have negotiated with the National Parks and Wildlife department to allow all cars involved to enter free of charge, maximising the funds going to SIDS.

The good people from Bakers Delight at Richmond have already agreed to provide bread to feed the masses, with Joes Meats at Richmond throwing in the sausages, and Bilo at Narellan have donated the drinks. Affordabel Amusement Hire at North Richmond will be bringing along a fairy floss machine for the kids (and the young at heart!)

Linda and Dan from Skin Fitness Richmond and North Richmond have been kind enough to start us off with $250 donation!

Rachel and Bobby from Starfire in Penrith have also pledged $250.

NOVA 96.9 will also be there on the day

Leave Time: 11:00am

Destination: Wattamolla - Royal National Park

We'll probably have an additional meet up point at Panthers. If anyone wants to suggest other meetup points were open to suggestions. But Silverwater is the official meeting point. I'll post any additional info as soon as I get it.

If you are interested in coming along for a great day let me know. So far there are 40+ cars confirmed as coming. All cars are welcome to join our convoy so please tell all your friends.

A route map will be published in the coming days, and also handed out on the morning of the cruise.

lol I can see the irony of someone from this forum winning some of the prizes but hey theres always ebay if you happen to win something that not quite your style :)

I just want to update that meguiars is sponsoring our show and shine, with some great packs full of meguiars products for winners. Another prize, a photography package has been confirmed. I'm sure that just about anyone can appreciate these prizes regardless of what they drive :)

Ditto on the meeting point.silverwater boat ramp.Im guessing in silverwater near the bridge allong side the water.Either way i'll find it.Though it would be easier if you could post a street directory map of the location for all 2 c.:cool:

Craig, I'll come to this too most likely as I need an excuse to take the car out for a cruise hehe... we should meet up somewhere around Casula or something and cruise down to silver water togeda.

Yo Darko..This is craig but am posting up from a friends computer.I wll post up again later tonight.But yeah...if you want to meet up at the bp servo station or maccas both on the hume hwy...

It was pretty good.The scenery was great..afterwards myself and the passengers went and took a few photos of the car.

Ditto on meeting you guys.Chris i guess it was better after all that you didnt have the car for the fact that you could take extra piccie's

milf was crazy.I liked monaro the interior,20''wheels and the beefy 25/30det juicyness.

As we were leaving at the end of the day,and were on our way down the exiting road we were greeted with a great big cloud of smoke and fat limo marks.

      Absolutely this. Yes, except not vacuum hose. Something oil/fuel safe is a better idea.

      The new project has arrived. I have wanted one of these for such a long time, well before that meathead Clarkson drove one in Africa. I really wanted an E34 but I have some medical issues that mean I *really* can't bump my head and the lack of airbags in the E34 made it just too big of a risk.  I don't know why I've always liked these older touring BMW's to be honest, but man I love this car. She's been pretty well maintained for her 243k's with what appears to be only a single oil leak at the oil filter housing gasket. It has a bunch of updates including later model bumper and headlights, 7 series billion-way adjustable seats and it came with a few spares and another set of wheels with legal tyres. I got a unregistered car permit from the RTA and drove it back from Canberra on Saturday.                   First cab off the rank is cleaning it up for blue slip. I dont know how picky they'll be but I figured I'd clean the headlights, fix the oil filter housing gasket, replace the speed sensors (throwing errors) and swap the OE wheels (the M Sport wheels have a big chunk out of one of the tyres.) I also need to replace all 6 gas struts - 2 for bonnet, 2 for hatch and 2 for hatch glass. The car tries to eat me whenever i open any of these. My plan for this car; Ultimately, this is a budget car. I can't afford to throw lots at it and its because I have another car that I got this, if something breaks its no big deal. I will just maintain and repair it really. But eventually I want to do a manual conversion. It actually looks pretty straight forward for E39's and the trickiest part will be sourcing the parts.  I do need to replace some suspension arms or bushes because wow, she's a floaty old girl. She's also fantastically slow. Like really, really slow. When pulling back out on to the freeway on Sat after a quick pull over I needed to wait until no cars were visible before going.  Oh, and the guy I bought it from had a gorgeous R31 GTS-X in the garage.

      Do you have a picture? I assume it is a breather for gearbox oil as it expands, it should have a vacuum line run nice and high in the engine bay (R32 GTR has it on a top bellhousing bolt)

      Hi all, I am putting an r33 gtst gearbox into a VL and have noticed what looks like a vacuum barb on the box (on top in the middle). Suspecting that it's a vacuum line but I'd like to double check, if someone could confirm the function of that would be great. Cheers in advance.
