I brought an R33 which has Tein (green) coil-overs on it. Similar to picture below (thanks Blukie).

The ride is extremely harsh and bumpy, and too low. I was told this suspension was for a GTR, and someone has put it in my GTS-T, and used spacers (GTR's are lower?) to make it fit - not sure if thats true or not.

I noticed the little knob on top with the tiny allen key hole. What does this adjust? And what direction is more or less? It appears to click about 15 odd times.

Would raising my suspension help the harsh ride? The "Ring" is wound ALL the way up the top at the moment. There appears to be two springs, is that dual-stage or something?

Please remember the pic is SIMILAR to my teins, but not identical! springs are different for a start.

Ok if the Teins are like my HKS coil overs the allen key hole is the damper adjust...wind it all the way Anti clockwise....(That is the way the HKS ones are any way??) for the softest setting this should soften the ride a little...like wise raising the heght a little..this will give you more spring travel to absorb some of the bumps

That being said if they really are for a GTR the spring rate is probably too high as they usually run higher rated than you would on a GTST...this will make it hard to get a nice ride

click righty tighty for firmer and lefty loosy for loose. teins are naturally harsh. not a good idea to set to softest as then damper/rebound just becomes uselss thats if theyre working effectivly at all..lol. go say 4-5 clicks from softest. if they look exactly like the ones in the pic then yes they are for gtrs. i have tein ha's which is probably what you have. if you look on the stickers they will tell you what model u have. yep i think raising it would help abit as well as handeling.

Yeah sorry! I meant to say start at the softest and work up a few clicks at a time till you find the level you like :thanks:

If you have a gtst then gtr suspension won't physically fit in the back end of the car.

You really need to check and find out the model of coilover as there are a couple of different ways to adjust the height. If you have NA's then it's circlip.

I suspect you have a proper coilover though as you mention a second spring which means you probably have helper springs. They can be adjusted on car using a pair of c spanners to adjust the spring seat height.

post a pic if you are unsure. There's plenty of guys here who can identify coilovers by sight :)

They are HA's (closer examination of the sticker!). Thanks for the help re damper adjust. I have just noticed that one of the front shocks does not "click" as you turn the damper adjust, and the knob has broken off. It is just loosely sitting in the hole.

I'm not sure if it's worthwhile repairing, Not happy at all with the Harsh Harsh ride, maybe its time for a few set of suspension.

Is it possible to adjust the damper on the rear suspension? If so, how?!!!!
