R31 Comp. And Dist.

I am trying to find out if i can interchange R31 rb30 computer and elec. distributer with vl rb30 parts. Any help thanks.

A mate just got given a vl with no dist. and i have found a dist. and comp. on ebay.

The distributor is interchangeable i believe, it should be the same or very similar.

The comptuer may not be. The part of the computer that controls the fuel pump is different skyline to vl, the skyline has a fully variable fuel pump whilst the VL has a 2 speed pump. Auto/Manual is also different. I tried a Auto VL computer in my Manual Skyline and couldnt get it to start, need to modify the neutral swtich circuit for the auto computer.

ecu no, it can work but its not worth the effort due to the different pumps. 31 ecus are cheap as chips anyway

the technical section has info about using a vl comp in a r31 so u might be able to get it too work the other way around
