I have seen a CFD model of the airflow around the GTR brakes...and they normally have air guides on the castor rods that diverts air up and into the lower part of the inner wheel...and therefore all around the indised of the wheel, the rear of the hub etc..

It would still be good for rotor, caliper, pad, brake line and also wheel and tyre temps. Woudl probably aid a bit of airflow through the wheel well as well which may stop the shock absorbers getting too hot

Its actually a good balanced way of keeping everything that little bit cooler
