And L3enny, thanks for clearing that up for me, could never get that sort of explaination even from the guys at regency, might have to look into getting the car engineered for future reference!

Maybe, when you see the cost for an emissions test you might think otherwise. I think the nearest one is in melbourne (don't quote me on that), in addition to the strict specifications of the testing. Then you might pass emissions but might get done for noise. Cruel world.

Yer I saw you said the reasonable height Grim...

I was simply pointing out with way too many words that in this case the majority spoil it for the minority.

Legal ride height basically looks stock, which does suck but the suspension travel for public roads is needed.

Thats interesting with regards to making the car look lowered; this simply comes down to lack of education within the police force, what can we do, our hands are tied. :D

Maybe use the money derived from these hoon fines to educate the police in modifications as to allow them to make a better decision if a car indeed should go to regency or not. Would save regency time, as a result money.

I agree on using fine money to educate cops cubes, but the fact is, the government likes the money they get through sending cars to regency, so the chances of them changing the way things are now is slim to none.

I figured with mine i wouldnt change the ride height as is to obvious to be defected for, but as you said the standard ride height looks funny, so i custom made some flares to try to make it look better.

If you havent seen it yet this shows the idea

Interesting comments. My car has a little bit of a kit and it has been lowered to the point where you can fit a hand between the wheel and the guard. Due to my car being a recent import i was lucky enough to have the previous owner engineer the car for the exhaust, suspension brake upgrade and engine conversion. Funny how police like to argue the fact that even though a car has been engineerd and passed regency no worries they still believe you are in the wrong because you have a modified car and pick on it still!

Everyone has a good response but it looks like there is nothing we can do!

BS.... Suspension tuned for circuit racing is in no way safer on australian public roads. Its simply too hard/not forgiving enough.

BS to you pal drive a stockie at the limit on aussie roads and drive my car with apexi n1 coilovers. and you tell me the difference????? get it right pal

seriously do you circuit race?? I do and i can tell you the difference! coil overs are a lot safer than stockie suspension, i can't believe you said that!

Here we go again.. Getting all personal..

ax53b70p25, you are one hot headed individual.

Don't drive to the limit on the street. Thats plain stupidity.

I will take you back to the beginning, I believe you have lost track of the discussion.

First up... GTSD1

I have a friend with a 180. He had his front so low and stiff with aftermarket shockers that everytime he hit a bump mid corner it near threw him off the road. Now imagine that he was going left around a blind corner, a bump throws him into an oncoming car.

You replied

sorry GTSTD1 the above is BS, coliover suspension is HIGHLy tuned for circuit racing and is a lot better for handling as far as safety goes i think the circuit cars are built with safety in mind as well

1. Skylines run coil overs from factory.

2. You are referring to suspension springs/shocks tuned for circuit racing.

3. How the frig is that related to GTSTD1's origional comment??? Clearly you have missunderstood GTSTD1's post, read it again and understand.

Now I replied..

CUBES, Thanks for sharing and/or at least understanding my point of view. Hey guys, I don't write the laws, I just enforce them, WHEN REQUIRED. (Discretion being the better part of valour). If you absolutely must run aftermarket coilovers, at least set them up with the corect stiffness/ride height.

And no, my 33 is not completely stock. I've even been questioned on a couple of things by our own traffic department. Naturally I showed them how legal it really was. Moral of the story...... Even though a car can be legal, it will still attract attention. I know I'm reasonable and that's all I ask of the people I speak to.

Your answer is within your own quote above.. Please note the bold text.

If its your last post; no skin off my nose, Its not like you contribute much anyway, the majority of your posts are negative or complete bullshit, right from your mates dad did this and that or its YOUR GTO then another post states its your DADS GTO, and on it goes.

I've got a life; a life with a missus and a gorgeous little boy.. I wouldn't have it any other way.

ATTENTION 'GTSTD1'

a little of topic, but answer me this cause atm i see the police force as low lifes. i have been targeted on numerous occasions, and it happened again about 15 mins ago!! using what happened a couple of minutes ago as an example, i was minding my own business taking my missus home when i see a police car going the opposite direction pull a u turn who proceeds to follow me into the side streets then straight away puts on the disco balls. i was asked for a 'random' check - yeah right, after bout 5 mins comes back and says ok you can go. now, you tell me what is up with that? i KNOW i am targeted as when i go to drop my missus off at her house, the copper has already parked his car there and when i arrive he drives just a little bit further down the road but waits. now its was dead quite on the road, how can he 'randomly' pull me over when he obviously went out his way to follow me. what i would like to know is do you keep my license on record or do you keep my plates on record cause im damn sure its one or the other.

rant over.

Nozilla,

What area does this happen in? You appear to get pulled over quite a lot. :D

Are you first name basis yet? :)

If its a crappy area then its completely understandable, I would hope the police do keep tabs on who's around at what times.

i think its also the area joel but a sudden u turn just to pull me over. i cant even see a car's number plate going the opposite direction at that time, not to mention he was able to. very strange cause one time, a police car drove down her street, whilst i was dropping my missus off in her drive way, with flood lights on the house. GTSTD1, would be much appreciated if you could some of this up for me.

The parks are a well known bad area, not really much more I can say apart from be prepared to be pulled over when in that area.

Some years ago a mate of mine went to the school there' I believe it was called the parks community school or something, he mentioned how his mate got in to a fight with some kid, the next day the kids father entered the class room with a knife, my mates mate jumped out the window and legged it.. As you would. :)

If your pulling up to a house then driving off it could be perceived in a bad area as a drug drop or something of the likes?
