I had this same problem after putting my new clutch in (replaced a button clutch). Turned out the pdeal box was cracked, everytime i pushed the clutch in the craked flexed open, was not completly releasing clutch.

its the slave cylinder isnt travelling far enough to disengage the clutch, especially being a twin plate it needs to travel further and i got my slave cylinder sleeved to make it travel abit further and its fine now.

the other option is to put washers on the pivot ball the fork pivots on to make it move closer to the engine when fully pressed.

hard to explain but i had my gtr box in and out about 8-10 times in a matter of days attepting to sort the problem. (not fun when doin it at home in the garage with a trolley jack and a 1 tonne gearbox) :P

i think u need to find a new workshop if they cant even work that out

cheers

Brad

    • It sounds like the perfect time to do easier tasks like, work out how to pull the headlights fully apart, clean them inside and out, and make them meticulous... Or lose all the clips, f**k up polishing the lenses, and get frustrated with that job while you can't do bigger more fun ones and wind up with no usable headlights...   I mean... What?! 😛
    • @soviet_merlin Thanks mate!  Nothing too major but will hold me up for a while. I've got lipomas to get taken off the back of my neck and the middle of my spine which always conjures scary thoughts!  It sounds worse than it is. Yeah great, more time to contemplate rabbit hole deepening , just what I need! 🤣
    • I'd argue the F50 kit I got is very good value. For ~2k I got the calipers (refurbed condition), adapters, pads, brake lines, rotors, and top hats. I think you'd be pretty hard to get Evo/GTR/350z brembos + the additional hardware for similar money. Used market for a pair of front calipers alone I've seen tend to run anywhere from $1500-2000 depending on condition.    That said, something like a GTR or 350z brembo is a lot easier to adapt to the Silvia.
    • Is there a significant price difference between the Evo/gtr/350z brembos vs the F50? Looks amazing.
    • I was actually being a tightarse at the time LOL... My OCD is tickling me into running a 2nd 8AN Teflon hose all the way down and removing the 2x OEM hardlines. My other side of my brain is telling me to run 2x hardlines front to back (also acts as a fuel cooler, so win win).
