Should I Change My Tyre

Just discovered a big piece of metal which seems to have gone in sideways into my nankan 255 40 tyre. Took it to bob jane and they said even thou it aint leaking i should change it cause the cut is in the sidewall so they cant fix it.

New tyre is gonna cost me $220 fitted.

Should i change the tyre cause they recon it will blow out on me soon.

I do think that even if they sealed it somehow, with the amount of movement the sides of the tires do it would surely leak or crack again.

Any damage to the side wall usually means you need to replace it.

I hit a kirb years ago and it egged up a little. No much really, so I thought I'd wait until I could afford it. Bad idea !!!! It blew out on me.

Damn loud when they go to. I needed a new pair of undies that day.

they r 255 40 17's and preety good!

no way i am driving with the space saver thing again, when u accelarate hard the hicas notices the different diameter tyres the space saver being a 16 inch and the rear starts going sideways.

or you could finish off both the space saver tyre and the bad one as fatz suggests. That'd be cheaper than wrecking the good one.

2 late changed it today!

had a look at the tyre when it was off and it would have blown on me any day, the gash was preety bad
