Interior Light

As it’s getting dark early its time to fix a problem with my Interior light, It just stays on permanently in both the “on” and the centre position.

I assume in the centre position it should come on when a door is opened. The door open dash light works correctly as does the light around the ignition switch.

The car is a series 1 R33 any pointers in the right direction or a copy of the diagram containing this circuit would be appreciated.

From what I understand, the switches in the pillars complete the circuit by grounding when a door is open.

If it's just the interior light playing up, then i'd suggest that the ground wire has grounded itself somewhere.

I don't have a wiring guide, but maybe it would be easy to start with the interior assembly first. Pull the cover off, then unscrew it from the roof. Check that the wires aren't shorting on the metal roof... maybe giggle the ground wire while a door is open to see if the problem is anywhere along the roof.

After that, I don't know where it goes. =-[

Its not the door switches as these also connect to the dash door light but I have not pulled the unit from the roof so this could be worth a look.

Yeah, I was jsut giving some background on why I thought the grounding could be bad. =-]

Nothing wrong in the roof lining or the door switches can someone out there help me with a diagram? :sorcerer:
