was after some opinions on screamer pipes. currently i have a hks style split turbulence dump on there at the moment, but i am going to higflow the turbo, so i was wondering would it be beneficial to have a screamer or just keeping the one i got?? i am not really that concerned with the legality of it either. just wanted to know if it will pick up a bit more power and whether it would sound good.

cheers

Mate screamer pipe is the way to go

i got my wastegate pipe in the Atmosphere and it sounds like a jumbo jet is comming,As for power it depends how restrictive your exhaust is

what turbo and exhuast you running

Key difference you are forgetting

You are using a External Gate.

The starter of this thread, using an internal gate

Its like comparing apples and oranges, they might be fruit, but nowhere near the same as each other

I would doubt it will pickup power. And i doubt it will "sound good"

ive seen the light with internal gated screamers......

i gained power by plumbing it back up....... it also helped me clear my EPA notice too.... split is the way to go .. no doubt about it

screamers are fun, i loved the WTF expression id get when u'd open it up..... but robbed me of a fair bit of power........wont go back to screamer unless i have an external gate .. and 2 3/4 pipe sticking off it

split dump/front pipe - over 3" dump/front pipe????

split dump is the way to go. Causes less turbulance in exhaust gas flow when the exhausts from the gate re-enter and therefor improving flow/velocity. Most of the split dump pipes are calculated correctly with length etc to minimize turbulance and maximize flow and velocity, which is what you want.

was yours a standard turbo? or was it one of the ones with the split section for the wastegate like the HKS ones?
