18" Rims, which tyres?

Hey guys, i've had a set of fm901s for the last 25,000km

235/40/18 all round.. they have been quite good and would have lasted another 10,000km if i had a camber kit!

Anyway to the point what would you guys recommend, looking for a tyre that will allow me to launch higher than 3,000rpm?

Also how wide can i go with an 8" rim? is 255/35/18 possible or 245 max?

i guess 8" will go with 245 max.

540, RE01, toyo R1R, Dunlop D01J, Advan A048 will be good~

but i think they will only last 5000-10000k?

you want a tyre on the back with a 55/60 profile if possible. Try the Simex brand. 540's are good too, once again get a tall profile even if the tyres are a little smaller. 235/245's are plenty.

The lower the profile the less sidewall flex it will allow and the more wheel spin you will get.

I can launch up to 3,500ish on D01Js, but they don't last too long, I keep em for the track. Mine are 265 with rolled guards to fit on 17x8.5" rims

rev210 i think the most you can go is a 40 profile for 235/245 on 18" rims

I am considering the kumho Ecsta Supra 712's...

about $330 each for 265/35/18

Yeah, they're the tyres we race on.

I'm pretty happy with Falken 451s for the street, cheap, directional, good grip

adam, why don't you like the ecstas? I've got them on mine - and in the dry they're awesome.
