Slow Changes In Auto Gear Box

Just wondered if anyone has had any problems like this.

When i change from 1st to 2nd in Toptronic it takes about 5 seconds to change gearing.

All the rest are almost instantaneous.

It gets quite annoing when driving to change gears

does it take forever even on light loads ?

Does it immediately start slowly bringing the revs down, or just totally do nothing for 5 secs after you select , then shift quickly

It happens whenever you change from 1st to second, doesnt matter what speed or revs.

Its just takes like 5 sec's then changes quickly.

Sounds like just basic malignance for a gear box.

IE: Band's. Not a big problem as long as you get them either tightened or replaced

Have a word with MV Automatics in Belair (Adelaide - South Australia)

They did a group buy (search for it) on valve bodies for Autos. Those that have taken this path including myself (my auto isnt tiptronic however) have found it well worthwhile.

5 seconds is way too long for it to be normal

something is wrong

yes, a valve body will make it change faster, but something is going wrong there..

if fluid level is normal, then take it to a transmission specialist ASAP
