Hi,

I have done a search but couldn`t find any answers. I am looking at sending my car back home, but just as i was getting my papers together, I saw that on the shaken shomeisho (inspection certificate) that i am actually the registered user and the car company that i used for the paperwork of the initial sale and subsequent shaken, maintenance etc is the actual owner.

I can provide a boatload of proof (parking permit, purchase receipt, tax receipt, compulsory insurance receipt) ALL IN MY NAME to prove that I was in fact acting as the owner. I know that dotars states that you must own and use the car for a year (i have had it for 18 months), so i rang them and the guy was exceptionally vauge and told me just to send the application. But i am in a real hurry and need answers quick smart, so I cam to you guys.

Well it really depends on what Canberra says, not us. If they ok it, you'll get the car in - if they don't, you won't. Best to speak to them about it.
