Well i jusy have to get through a bit of a technical hitch...I use a prgram called Solid Edge. Its a Student Version i got when i was doing my Major in Mechanical Design. Only the version is so old, that when i convert it to an AutoCad file it is a 2000 version which cannot be opened by the latest version of AutoCAD.

So it looks like i need to just redo the drawing in Microstation or AutoCAD 2005...unless someone knows where or who i can get a Solid Edge update from....any CAD folk around on SAU, parents???

Otherwise ill just go to work on the weekend and do another drawing...if you can get them from somewhere lese in the meantime then probably best. My brackets are done to my liking which means they are massively over engineered as im a little paranoid of dumbing down the desigh much more...although i know they can be.

Hey guys,

The caliper adaptors I currently have are for R32 upgrade to 324mm GTR rotors. They are superb adaptors, 6061 T6 billet alloy, SS helicoils and Grade 12 high tensile allen key bolts. $220 for the pair with fittings.

I have priced them as best as I can being the quality they are, somethings are cheaper buying in bulk but custom stuff usually isnt.

For a cheaper option I can get them made in steel which apparently works fine but is considerably heavier.

I can do DBA4000 series rotors 324mm for $235ea. RDA slotted 324mm $164ea

I have the R33 caliper adaptors underway but not completed yet.

I can also supply the 296mm to 343mm rotor brake upgrades with the two piece slotted rotors and custom alloy hats, my adaptors and custom brake pads for $1290.00

I am happy to quote on any brake upgrade you want.

I also get brake pads modified to suit different upgrades, you dont have to have pad overhang, modding the pad returns full pad footprint to the rotor by dropping the positon in the caliper.

The brackets wont suit anything but the std Nissan caliper as the lug centres are likely to be different between calipers.

If you want to buy a new caliper for your car then typically you want to try and get radial mount calipers, not lug mount like the std Nissan calipers. Aftermarket calipers are alos of course available in lug types, but i would buy the radial caliper.

So the brackets for the std lug mount caliper will not be good for anything aftermarket (a lot of reserach may find somehting like a Wilwood), but any bracket can be made for about any caliper

Contemplating your idea of GT3 6 pots, but I want a custom bracket made up so suit a disc size that will fit into a 17 inch rim. I'm guessing that dude to the size of the caliper, I'd only be able to run say 330mm discs, instead of say 343mm. How's your research into this going??

I've got some 17 inch LMGT4's on the way and I want to use them, don't want to go to 18's...

Well...if a certain forum goer can find it in his heart to post down the calipers then i can trial fit it all with my 340mm rotors.

They are a good chance of fitting since i have had 343mm rotors with a big 4 pot caliper inside my 17" WEDS wheels. The Porka calipers look to hug the rotor better then the CSC 4 pots i tried...so here is to hoping.

The most credible data i have on the GT3 rotor is that they are 350mm, so im hoping they will work ok with the 340mm rotor

The price I have for DBA5000's 324mm is $469ea. Can someone who runs the 5000 series explain the benefits they have over a 4000series please? I don't get it. I understand the benefit of a two piece rotor to fit a custom hat for an upgrade but not as a bolt on....

I would imagine it would be possible to have an adaptor made for just about any setup requiring one. The big 6 piston AP Racing Caliper with the 330mm 2 pc rotor setup I sell has its own adaptor, so does the 4 piston.

I haven't sold Willwood or Brembo but the Porsche 6 pot Caliper has an adaptor, so does Alcon.

Can someone who runs the 5000 series explain the benefits they have over a 4000series please?

The two main reasonas are that the alloy hat is lighter. So reduced unsprung weight. The second is that alloy transfers heat better, so the the heat from the rotor when transferred to the hat is shed quicker with the surround air.

Also, the benefit of the alloy hats is that you can replace just the rotor section rather then the whole single piece rotor. So hoefully you will be able to confirm that the replacement 5000 rotor section is cheaper then the 4000 324mm rotor :wub:

2 piece rotors are also usually floating which further reduces pad knock off.

So am I right in saying you already have an adaptor for a porsche 6 pot caliper?? if so, to run what size rotor, and minimum rim diameter?

has anyone tried fitting these caliper extensions to 324mm with the standard caliper under 16" gtr rims? im assuming they wont fit.. :P

there is not much clearance with the 297mm std GTR32 front rotor so I would assume that with the caliper sitting an additional 1cm further out from the centre they won't fit.... sorry

As Caz has pointed out, the price of the calliper adaptors is in the cost of the high quality material used and the parts supplied. So they are not really a Group Buy prospect, hence I have ordered a set direct from Caz. If you are interested I strongly suggest you do the same.

Once I have them, I will post up a how to fit guide. I will be using DBA 5000 series rotors and Hawk pads.

About 4 different rotor upgrades to suit the stock BNR32 caliper

I currently use JZA80 324mm rotors with the Global adaptors - they work superbly :D

If your using those adpaptors and are happy great. But personally i dont like the concept behind them. The bracket shoudl be one piece in my opinion, not a machine dpiece of billet then two bits of rod to space the bracket face to flush with the hub

But if it works then fine...but i think they are made to a price.

    • I mean this in no disrespect to u mate; Are there clear tagged examples/explanations in our SAU forum for example, in my interest, this is how to do R34 Gtt suspension the right way? U guys did so much taking risks with experimentation that deserves recognition and those results helps us morons take the RIGHT path to buy quality / buy once. 🍻
    • Pretty much what you'd expect at that power level. Hypergear turbo, long list of supporting mods, full Haltech catalogue, etc.  I'd say this goes for most drivers, suspension is still a dark art for most people. And it's really hard to convince someone how much better their setup could be...  
    • They are what I will be installing. 640s for me.
    • Hmm... From my experience you get about 0.25° camber change per mm of RUCA length change. So, to correct from -2.5 up to less than -1° (or, more than -1° if you look at the world as a mathematician does) then you'd be making 6-8mm of length change on the RUCA. From a stock length of 308mm, that's 2-2.5% difference in RUCA length. My RUCAs are currently very close to stock length - certainly only 2-3mm different from stock. I had to adjust my tension arms by 6mm to minimise the bump steer. That's 6mm out of 210, which is 2.8%. That's a 2.8% change on those, compared to a <1% change on the RUCAs. So the stock geometry already has worse bump steer than is possible - you can improve it even if you don't change the RUCA length. If you lengthen the RUCAs at all, then you will definitely be adding bump steer. Again, with my car, I recently had an unpleasant amount of bump steer, stemming from a number of things that happened one after another without me having an opportunity to correct for them. I only had to change the tension arm lengths by 1mm to minimise the resulting bump steer. (Granted, I also had to dial out a lot of extra toe-in in the rear, and excessive rear toe-in will make bump steer behaviour worse). Relatively tiny little adjustments having been made - the car is now completely different. Was horrifying how much it wanted to steer from the rear on any significant single wheel bump/dip. And it was even bad on expansion joints on long sweepers on freeway entry/exits, which are notionally hitting both rear wheels at the same time. My point is, the crappy Nissan multilink is quite sensitive to these things (unlike the very nice Toyota suspension!). And I think 99.75% of Skyline owners are blissfully ignorant of what they are driving around on. Sadly, it is a non-trivial exercise to set up to measure and correct bump steer. I am happy to show my rig, which involves nasty chunks of wood bolted to the hub, mirrors, lasers, graph paper targets and other horrors. Just in case anyone wants to see how it is done. I'll just have to set it up to take the photos.
    • What do you have in that bad boy ? Ill go with the 725cc since I'll be going with Nistune ( would definitely like more engine protection but Haltech is too far out of reach at the moment... plus, Ill probably have a pretty safe tune as its a daily, not gonna be chasing peak power 24/7 ahahah ). Are Xspurt a safe choice?  Pete's great. He didnt mention anything about traction arm length so I reckon it may be good. When I get some new wheels/tire later down the road I'll ask him about it and get his opinion on em. I heard from Gary that you've got the bilsteins too, are you running the sway bars too? and what other suspension goodies do you have installed or would recommend?
