Yeah I got it, I don't like the handling a great deal, it's not as bad as Most Wanted (SO BAD) but it's no where as fun as the handling of Free Run in Underground 2.

The Drift handling is so stupid, it's like the car is on a rail track, you don't have real control.

& The normal race / free run handling is poor, it's like Major understeer & NEVER any oversteer, & if you try to do a handbrake 180, you'd be lucky to make it to 60 degree's

The graphics engine is inefficient like f#cking always with EA games too, they need themselves a proper graphics engine & some more efficient programmers FFS.

EDIT: Tweaked graphics setting (VSYNC on making huge improvment), looks pretty nice & playable FPS now, still needs graphics engine like HL2 or FarCry though

Owww & found an awesome Res mod. if you're running a widescreen or HD monitor. 1920 * 1200 kicks ass :)

I got this info on another forum. It works ok for me.

"Do this to fix Carbon for widescreen...

http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/wiki/...title=Downloads

1.Download the program called Universal Widescreen (UniWS) Patcher

2. Go into your Need for Speed Carbon directory and name the exe file speed2.exe

3. Open up the program you just downloaded and select Need for Speed Underground 2 from its game menu

4. Enter the resolution you want in the program

5. Locate the directory for Carbon in the program and click "Patch"

6. Launch Carbon and select the 640x480 resolution

7. Finished!

Notice: Make sure to backup the original Carbon exe for updating your game later with official patches!

Enjoy!"

yeh just finished it last night....

Negatives:

dont like the graphics,

gameplay is to arcadey

cars handle like boats

RICE x 1000

Possitives:

drifting is awesome (unrealistic though)

and thats about it...

Can anybody recommend any racing games on PC besides the NFS series?

I dream of games like Gran Turismo & Wipeout on PC.

awwww wipeout, that brings back memories! the last wiepout i played was the first one on psone... :D

not that i thought it was bad... its was great... i just never got around to playing the newer ones...

Man Wipeout rules, everyone one of them has been great on the Playstation, & they only ever got better too! ‘unlike dam NFS / EA games’

Wipeout Pure (PSP)

Wipeout Fusion (PS2)

Wipoout 3 (PSONE)

Wipeout 2097 'or something like that' (PSONE)

Wipeout (PSONE)

Cannot wait for another Wipeout game on PS3, that will rock in widescreen HD!

Get GTR2 if you want the most realistic racing game. Thing like setting the tyre psi if theres cloud cover

but theres no drifting in there just straight circuit racing :P should be a 32 GTR and Cosworth Siera RS500 soon (see the GTR2 demo thread last page)

    • I believe there was a similar one posted by @duggyphresh. They were re-routing their battery positive cable in the way I am also trying to achieve. Sorry, I’m new to this forum, so was a bit late to the party by a few months and so reignited the old thread, as I wanted to know how they got on with doing it.
    • Wasn't there a thread on this very subject just a few weeks ago?
    • Hi all! Looking to relocate the battery to the trunk of an R34 GTT. I want to do it using as many stock GTR components as I can (including the harness protectors from the 34 GTR that run underneath along the chassis to the engine bay). So far I’ve purchased the battery tray from a 33 GTR, as the captive weld nuts are already there just asking to be used. There is also the slight issue of now having to relocate the ABS/TC/Fuel Pump Control ECU, which in GTT’s sits right above where the battery will then sit on the tray. Has anyone already achieved this, and if you have any pics that you wouldn’t mind sharing? It would be great to see how others have done it and where you put them, as there are countless holes in the parcel shelf panel to potentially use. Just trying to get some ideas bounced around, and to help uncover any potential problems I may encounter by  my choice of location. TIA for any help!
    • Brand was ard.   I also threw a brand new battery at it and beefed up the wire from the alternator to battery and added an extra earthing point from the battery
