Until the ECU cover is opened... like they did to my car :)

Then regardless of the 100 other things, your gonna get pinned

No traffic cop is gonna sus you out for a chipped ecu.

If your being sent to the EPA for testing....I assume you would return most things back to stock - including the ECU. If its been chipped buy a stock ECU for 30 bucks I see them all the time. If your really worried buy a backup ECU when u do the upgrade. PFC users should keep their stock ones for this purpose.

Thats my point.

^^ I have been there many times and asked the guys if it was ok before it was done, then when I told them it was done they barely even blinked. Mind you everything else on the car was fine whenever they checked it. Also I have only seen two guys there?

so why weren't they worried about it with stolen_s15's car? ;)

No idea, who knows what they discussed as its totally inaccurate.

Ask the EPA and you'll get the answer if you dont believe me

Although, FYI... it'll be exactly what i said

oh, don't doubt at all that what you say is the truth. I know a chipped ECU is illegal, just wondering if there's some leniency they're showing now, in regards to chipped ECU's or something like that.

Once i've got all the performance bits i want on the car, i'm going for a Dr.Drift ecu remap, i know it's illegal but meh... my exhaust is very quiet, otherwise i have nothing really to be picked up for EPA.
