Rev Limiter In A R33

Does 7100rpm sound right for a r33 ecu thats what my car stops at, I think it's a bit low

thats about right... the ecu should have it set at 7000 or so, but the tacho's are usually inaccurate up there.

yep that sounds about right. and it isn't a good idea to change it to any higher if you change ecu's. if you were to take it to 7500rpm you add about 1500-1700kg of load onto the conrods.

Huh, HPI reader (or was it Zoom). MD as usual didn't tell the whole story, I think he loves dropping a bomb then walking out.

how much would you rev a rb30det stock bottom end ? 7k ok ?

7150rpm puts the RB30 piston speed at around 4000ft/min, which is around the most you would want to push a standard production motor too. (Without a full prep, balanced, lightened internals etc to the engine)

Sure you can go more, but the 4000ft/min is considered a practical safe standard limit!
