Hey guys, quick question - I am considering getting my ecu tuned up (reasonably stock'ish engine wise), but will running it leaner in the top end - from afr's of about 10-11:1 under load to the mid/low 12:1 do any long term damage? I only give it the occasional bit of stick, but I dont want to be replacing another engine any time soon, thanks muchly

for a stock engine 12.3:1 and lower should be ok. You will get a bit of extra power. but you are kinda running on the edge.

If anything starts failing like the pump or something it could explode your engine.

Its allways a good idea to leave your support systems some head room and you should get your tune checked from time to time.

The general consensus for a daily driver is no more than 12.0 to 1. As long as you have a nice reliable source of petrol and watch the knock levels.

 cheers
