I'm talking about the spring type noise that occurs throughout the sweep of applying the clutch!

I'll confess that I am a mechanic and haven't spent much time on it but it annoys the hell out of me!

It is usually where the slave cylinder push rod contacts the release fork or from the pivot point of the release fork itself. Mine is coming from the slave/fork contact point but I cleaned it and it was still their(as usual) but then a lubed it with a few different types of grease and each time it would go away for a little while, then return with avengence!

I have heard quite a few other R32's with this same problem so, has anyone managed to actually fix this problem?

I was even going to try coating the pushrod end in someother plastic to change the composition of the friction that is evedent with the standard set up.

Actual fixes would be most apprecciated :)

i stuck a bit of black grease(molybdenum diosolphide) and the sqeaking went away, hasnt returned yet its been greased like it since feb. you could even try bushing the hole with a plastic bush or some hose

    • It sounds like the perfect time to do easier tasks like, work out how to pull the headlights fully apart, clean them inside and out, and make them meticulous... Or lose all the clips, f**k up polishing the lenses, and get frustrated with that job while you can't do bigger more fun ones and wind up with no usable headlights...   I mean... What?! 😛
    • @soviet_merlin Thanks mate!  Nothing too major but will hold me up for a while. I've got lipomas to get taken off the back of my neck and the middle of my spine which always conjures scary thoughts!  It sounds worse than it is. Yeah great, more time to contemplate rabbit hole deepening , just what I need! 🤣
    • I'd argue the F50 kit I got is very good value. For ~2k I got the calipers (refurbed condition), adapters, pads, brake lines, rotors, and top hats. I think you'd be pretty hard to get Evo/GTR/350z brembos + the additional hardware for similar money. Used market for a pair of front calipers alone I've seen tend to run anywhere from $1500-2000 depending on condition.    That said, something like a GTR or 350z brembo is a lot easier to adapt to the Silvia.
    • Is there a significant price difference between the Evo/gtr/350z brembos vs the F50? Looks amazing.
    • I was actually being a tightarse at the time LOL... My OCD is tickling me into running a 2nd 8AN Teflon hose all the way down and removing the 2x OEM hardlines. My other side of my brain is telling me to run 2x hardlines front to back (also acts as a fuel cooler, so win win).
