Hi ppls,

I pulled the pfc out of the car today to check it out as I did something silly causing me to also replace 1 main 75amp fuse and a 10amp fuse, well... silly doesn't do me justice, I would like to call my self .... a stupid f*cking mental retarded dumb sh*t.

Now that I've got that off my chest back on topic.

I've attached a few pics, what I've found interesting is there's an RB25 stamp in there and a couple of the ecu pins have been rewired. I'll edit the post after I trace what numbers they are and what they do.

With regards to the ecu pinouts.. From memory I believe the r32 and r33 had 2 differences in the pin outs, again from memory I'm sure 2 of the inj. outputs (or was it coil) were required to be swapped.

So essentially this is what they have done.

that looks nothing like an rb25 PFC.

The CPU processor type you have is completely different.

RB25 users will have 7F83 CPU, would be interested in what an RB26 PFC inside looks like, no idea what the riser slot is for ???

Looks like that dude from the US was onto something when he said u had to rewire some pins to use a rb25 pfc on a rb20 :)

if you're refering to carl h, then yeah he used my car as a gunnie pig for that. it works, and i believe its the #5 and 6 injectors that fire opposite between the 2 engines, but don't quote me on that.

definately looks like they just swap the injector wires around. i've got an rb25det power fc running my stroked rb20det. all i did was swap those 2 wires externally, selected z32 afm and set the injector pulse and duty cycle up for gtr injectors and it started and ran like factory.

interesting though that the boards arn't the same, i have a 5.11 rb25 pfc but not really willing to open it if its going to void my warrenty..

kwazza11,

So that is 100% all you did? Simply swap the inj. outputs?

I've attached an excel file that depicts the two pinouts, flick between the two tabs to see the highlighted differences. There are a few, one which is of concern is the rb25 lacks the rb20's throttle valve switch (pin 54) and in place of the rb20's throttle valve power (pin 57) it has the exhaust temp sensor signal.

On the RB25's ecu pin 17 Injection pulse TI monitor, I wonder if this is the R33's Rich and retard mechanism, it see's x inj. duty cycle then does its mental power dips from there on wards. It would be interestering if the rb25 pfc has this internally connected, if not then I would suggest it does exactly what I stated.

I'll throw the GTR pin out in there now.

ecu_pinout_compare.zip

"Rich and Retard" is simply the higher air flow/load cells having no ignition timing in them, and the fuel cells at this load are rich.

That is why it cuts, no timing in those load cells.

If you could remap the ecu to put some extra ignition timing in those load cells, you wouldn't have a rich and retard situation.

The TI monitor is more then likely a signal for a trip computer to calculate show current fuel usage.

Also the lack of the throttle switch input, will not matter as the RB25 PowerFC uses the throttle position sensor, not switch. (So it won't matter that its not there.)

From what you have found Cubes, all you have to do is reverse pins 112 & 114 and cut 57 to be safe. (I doubt this pin is connected in the PowerFC though?)
