heheh u had fub with it last night!!! will try to post some pics later on. BTW wheres the damn height adjuster for the headlights located at?

Edited by stasis

As you all know i got the car today. I noticed the put on the rims back to front. So i took it to a tyre place for an alignment after the wheels have been swapped from front to back. The camber on the passenger side was way off compared to the drivers side. funnu they couldnt match the camber for both sides they came very close though. I think onedrivers side is 1.75 and the other is1.25 or something. What should the setting be. The car is sitting 350mm front and back from center wheel to the arches.

second thing have you guys heard of a suspension called JECS? cos thats what it is on the car noe and thats all i can make out from.

couple of other issues ocasinally the car will auto lick itself (doors)

Keyless entry works find but cannot disable the larm. after opening the doors via key or remote and i dont put in the key to the ignition the alarms go off. So probably i need a wiriing diag. (anybody knows where i can get one? originals of course if i can).

other than that its find. Ben from Race pace inspected the car and everything seems to be allrtie . Had the car on the hoist and everything. other than that everything is allrtie at the moment.

my opinion, get rid of whatever dodgy alarm is in and get a decent one installed. auto lock is usually because you disarm the car but don't open the door, it assume it was a mistake and locks again.

yea i know but this one got a paging system to it. probably i will leave it ad it is first other than that it wirks fine the alarm works fine.

another thing i forgot that its got a turbo timer in it as well. but sometimes it works sometimes dont. o dpmt knw wheter it works on the oil temp or not. might have to get an autp elec to check it out.

my father is an auto electrician, they have people coming in all the time with dodgy alarms, they usually end up leaving with massive bills, so you are probably better off just putting up with it or getting a new one installed

yea probably i will put up with it first its not a main priority.

ok i was just wondering does the 260rs suppose to have a switch that controls 2wd or 4wd? Also are they suppose to have the head light height adjustments? cos mine doesnt have any of them.

Isn't the headlight adjustment thing just a little screw and you use a phillips??

tighten it and the headlights shine down, loosen it and they shine upwards??

S2's with xenon headlights actually have (might have been optional not sure) an electrical headlight adjustment, so you can adjust them up and down, something to do with carrying extra weight, and because the xenons are so bright, you can adjust them down.

the only adjustment you can make to the torque split is a button located to the left of the steering wheel just above the handbrake on the rs4 so maybe look in the same place on your 260 although your handbrake isnt there its in the centre console

    • Very nice - I also have a 92 GTST and hardly see any others around these days

    • I think you're really missing the point. The spec is just the minimum spec that the fuel has to meet. The additive packages can, and do, go above that minimum if the fuel brand feels they need/want to. And so you get BP Ultimate or Shell Ultra (or whatever they call it) making promises to clean your engine better than the standard stuff....simply because they do actually put better additive packages in there. They do not waste special sauce on the plebian fuel if they can avoid it. I didn't say "energy density". I just said "density". That's right, the specific gravity (if you want to use a really shit old imperial description for mass per unit volume). The density being higher indicates a number of things, from reduces oxygen content, to increased numbers of double bonds or cyclic components. That then just happens to flow on to the calorific value on a volume basis being correspondingly higher. The calorific value on a mass basis barely changes, because almost all hydrocarbon materials have a very similar CV per kg. But whatever - the end result is that you do get a bit more energy per litre, which helps to offset some of the sting of the massive price bump over 91. I can go you one better than "I used to work at a fuel station". I had uni lecturers who worked at the Pt Stanvac refinery (at the time they were lecturing, as industry specialist lecturers) who were quite candid about the business. And granted, that was 30+ years ago, and you might note that I have stated above that I think the industry has since collected together near the bottom (quite like ISPs, when you think about it). Oh, did I mention that I am quite literally a combustion engineer? I'm designing (well, actually, trying to avoid designing and trying to make the junior engineer do it) a heavy fuel oil firing system for a cement plant in fricking Iraq, this week. Last week it was natural gas fired this-that. The week before it was LPG fired anode furnaces for a copper smelter (well, the burners for them, not the actual furnaces, which are just big dumb steel). I'm kinda all over fuels.
    • Well my freshly rebuilt RB25DET Neo went bang 1000kms in, completely fried big end bearing in cylinder 1 so bad my engine seized. No knocking or oil pressure issue prior to this happening, all happened within less than a second. Had Nitto oil pump, 8L baffled sump, head drain, oil restrictors, the lot put in to prevent me spinning a bearing like i did to need the rebuild. Mechanic that looked after the works has no idea what caused it. Reckoned it may have been bearing clearance wrong in cylinder 1 we have no idea. Machinist who did the work reckoned it was something on the mechanic. Anyway thats between them, i had no part in it, just paid the money Curiosity question, does the oil system on RB’s go sump > oil pump > filter > around engine? If so, if you had a leak on an oil filter relocation plate, say sump > oil pump > filter > LEAK > around engine would this cause a low oil pressure reading if the sensors was before the filter?   TIA
