Alex not this coming thurday but i think the next one iftheres no more delays/ let me know. I will be thers on fridau probably to drop off the oils for my car. let ma know.

Yudy,

Also I am sure the fuel tank in the Stagea is different to the GTR so the filter is different and the sump on the stagea is different which brad has mentioned Before during his GTR engine conversion so the oil filter probably is different and if they require genuine parts this may be added cost.

ok the sump on stagea rs fours, and gtr's and 260rs's are all the same identical part. oil filter is normal gtr size and same for a rb25 if i remember correctly (z145a is part no. on rb26, whats the rb25???)

so they are both same parts as gtr's and rs4's so no additional costs are needed over these other models.

hope it helps

Brad

BTW should i get my car detailsed and thoroughly washed by the detailer since its been at the see for 2 mths and sombody saud something they used a corrosice disinfectant to sterilixe the car.

Ctuise thats exactly what i mean. but anyway main priority is to get the car out.

Correct, Brad, the oil filter on the RB25s is also the Z-145a.

err guys wjpse part number is that Z-145a? is it nissan or ryco or wat?

Z-145A is a Ryco number. The easiest way to get the correct Nissan part (if your dealer has no idea what a Stagea is - most of them don't), is ask for one to suit an R31 Skyline.

ok thanks cruise!! I wonder how you know all this part numbers?!

cause im nissans best customer hahaha, ive got a couple of old oil filter boxes in my garage from my run in oil changes i been doing so i just went outside and grabbed it to get the no. i didnt have it stored in my head its abit of a big number to remember :)

i have spent more time in the past 12 months under/in/on my stagea than i sleep, that i could name a spanner size for almost any bolt on that entire car (dunno if thats a good thing or a bad thing though haha  )

Yea cruise probaly the car now is your mistress now ;) . Well its good at least you got a thing that you really like doing and enjoying the moment now. At least you got the knowledge and the experience. As for me im totally a newbie. I can change oilds, radiator fluid, brake pads( i think). Changing fan belts but othere than that im totally dumbfound.

HMMM!! probably i should carnapped your car :D . HAHAH!!! just kidding buddy.

hahah, i have a timing belt change down to about a 30 min job which most workshops charge a fortune for, its something ive done about 5 times in a row from front cam seals leaking so i know what bolt sizes every single thing is hehe. engines been in and out minimum 5-6 times and gearbox seriously in and out 15 times atleast from sorting out clutch issues. i think i remove the engine like people do oil changes hehe.

ive almost given up on that car sooo many times but all the money and time ive spent i want to feel and see the end result before some other lucky bugger gets it for half of what its worth :D

and sorry to get offtopic mate, good luck with the 260rs i wish i had bought one instead of doing the conversion stuff around :D

thanks bud. Yea the reason why i bought the 260rs is i dont need to do much to it/ you know like conversion and stuff like that. ALthough i might be very tempted to get a whole new engine block though. Replacing the current one with weither A rb26Z2 which is tuned bt Nismo or by HKS or HRD. But i like to keep the specs original though. Plus labor costs are CRAZY!! now. Im sure you guys know about it. From economical point of view buying RS4s then upgrading it to a Rb26 actually costs more than a 260rs if you take into calculations of your time spent on it and the loss time(therefore loss of income).

But then again it all comes down to the amount of cash at hand when you buy the car. I used every single resources that i can get (not financing) to get the 260rs. Not trying to be smart ass but thats the way i was thought in my econ class.

Hope fully the car will come out from the compliance place w/o any hassles. I blew the budget by at least $500 at tleast at the moment. Im just waiting from my insurer to confirm wheter the current alarm system on the car is sufficient for them. If not i have to get a new set of oz alram system with immobilise installed. THis will cost me rougly $350 installed by the compliance.

Wish me luck man :D

thats a bonus for sure, so is late next week if all goes to plan the pick up week?

yea probably next week if i can to pick it up on thursday after lunch. then i will have timme to get it rego then into racepace for full body check up ;) And i just found out that all my parts have arrived from Japan except for my nismo echaust

    • When I need something else to edit, I use Movavi. A friend who does video editing on a daily basis recommended me) it's an easy video cutter to use for beginners

    • I think you're really missing the point. The spec is just the minimum spec that the fuel has to meet. The additive packages can, and do, go above that minimum if the fuel brand feels they need/want to. And so you get BP Ultimate or Shell Ultra (or whatever they call it) making promises to clean your engine better than the standard stuff....simply because they do actually put better additive packages in there. They do not waste special sauce on the plebian fuel if they can avoid it. I didn't say "energy density". I just said "density". That's right, the specific gravity (if you want to use a really shit old imperial description for mass per unit volume). The density being higher indicates a number of things, from reduces oxygen content, to increased numbers of double bonds or cyclic components. That then just happens to flow on to the calorific value on a volume basis being correspondingly higher. The calorific value on a mass basis barely changes, because almost all hydrocarbon materials have a very similar CV per kg. But whatever - the end result is that you do get a bit more energy per litre, which helps to offset some of the sting of the massive price bump over 91. I can go you one better than "I used to work at a fuel station". I had uni lecturers who worked at the Pt Stanvac refinery (at the time they were lecturing, as industry specialist lecturers) who were quite candid about the business. And granted, that was 30+ years ago, and you might note that I have stated above that I think the industry has since collected together near the bottom (quite like ISPs, when you think about it). Oh, did I mention that I am quite literally a combustion engineer? I'm designing (well, actually, trying to avoid designing and trying to make the junior engineer do it) a heavy fuel oil firing system for a cement plant in fricking Iraq, this week. Last week it was natural gas fired this-that. The week before it was LPG fired anode furnaces for a copper smelter (well, the burners for them, not the actual furnaces, which are just big dumb steel). I'm kinda all over fuels.
    • Well my freshly rebuilt RB25DET Neo went bang 1000kms in, completely fried big end bearing in cylinder 1 so bad my engine seized. No knocking or oil pressure issue prior to this happening, all happened within less than a second. Had Nitto oil pump, 8L baffled sump, head drain, oil restrictors, the lot put in to prevent me spinning a bearing like i did to need the rebuild. Mechanic that looked after the works has no idea what caused it. Reckoned it may have been bearing clearance wrong in cylinder 1 we have no idea. Machinist who did the work reckoned it was something on the mechanic. Anyway thats between them, i had no part in it, just paid the money Curiosity question, does the oil system on RB’s go sump > oil pump > filter > around engine? If so, if you had a leak on an oil filter relocation plate, say sump > oil pump > filter > LEAK > around engine would this cause a low oil pressure reading if the sensors was before the filter?   TIA
    • But I think you missed mine.. there is also nothing about the 98 spec that supports your claim..  according to the fuel standards, it can be identical to 95, just very slightly higher octane number. But the ulp vs pulp fuel regulations go show 95 (or 98), is not just 91 with some additives. any claim of ‘refined by the better refineries’ or ‘higher quality fuel’ is just hearsay.  I have never seen anything to back up such claims other than ‘my mate used to work for a fuel station’, or ‘drove a fuel delivery truck’, or ‘my mechanic says’.. the actual energy densities do slightly vary between the 3 grades of fuel, but the difference is very minor. That said, I am very happy to be proven wrong if anyone has some hard evidence..
