Hiya..

I'm just trying to see if anyone on here was going up the freeway on friday night/ sat morning ( i think) and "encountered" a white Jaguar.

Nothing nasty... i just want to put your mind at ease.. ;)

LOL. Sounds like someone must have got a shlacking

LOL. Sounds like someone must have got a shlacking >_<

hehe..

i just thought i'd post incase someone was feeling upset that their car may be lacking power....

fear not... you probably had a third the CC's of the Jag.. :ermm:

it's not my car.. i just heard it from a mate...

I am guessing that the car has been modified a bit, or the skyline wasnt trying because there is no way a stock Jaguar Mark II could keep up.

Fot those who are interested:

Built: October 1959 and continued in production until 1967

1/4 Mile 16.3 seconds

161.9 KW at the flywheel

Twin SU HD6 carburetors - and u think turbo lag is bad (LOL)

weight - 1450kg - a little less than a house.

So again my guess is your friends Jag must be modified if it could leave a skyline behind. (or he was lucky not to be caught by the new drug stops) It may have the 3.8L motor but it also weighs 2 times as much and puts out less power. This is really a luxuary can not a sports/performance car, though in its day it was no slouch.

My grandpa has a couple minter Mk2's...no V8's in there but they are sweet old school rides. He's over 80 but doesnt mind giving his Cooper S a bit through Norton Summit! Reckon the 7L would be pretty thirsty with a bit of loud pedal action....

I had a mini for 3 years before I bought my GTR and i know I'll have to own another mini soon...the old school is where it's at!
