Woo Hoo!!!!! Ultimate 98 in Burnie from 8am tomorrow! Finally!

Had a look at the bowser and it's going to cost $1.57.9 That's 9c dearer than PULP (1.48.9) which is 7c dearer than ULP (1.41.9) here in Burnie.

When I was in Orange(NSW) last week and filled up the renter ULP was 1.45.8 So we're not that had done by here as a regional area!

Any RB turbo deserves 98 whether it's stock or modified! IMHO

I've used 98 on the mainland in both my Skylines and it's well worth the extra $4.50 (@ 9c for 50ltrs here in Burnie) for the benifits I have seen! Again IMHA

Wogboy, R u getting better economy and a bit more power?

When I cruise to hobart and back (been down that way afew times in the R34) I 'll average around the 450-480km for 55ltrs.

When I was over on the mainland at easter time (with the R34) got a full tank of 98 in Melb and used it for the 3 weeks I was there and aveaged 500-550km for 55ltrs and the car felt half a gear better!

I love the stuff! Can't wait to run a few tanks thru and get another dyno tune!

You are spot on wogboy- ... being designed as JDM, Japan has much better fuel than we have here in Oz, don't quote me but 98 is the norm. So running on 95, you are right at the bottom of the ECU range. I have 3 engines stuffed purely because of dud fuel.

So the rest should follow your lead, and treat their engines with some respect.

I think given our current fuel status that the oil companies will now phase out 91RON... it is only realy good for lawn mowers and starting fires anyhow.

The pricing is OK. Using 19.95 for booster and 95Ron has us paying 1.84 / litre. See ya soon Rosie, with a trailer full of drums.

TT

Well I just got some at BP Glenorchy, I called in to Hobart (Brooker) but they hadn't set it up yet but told me it would be going in a few hours.

I didn't expect any power increase but I must say it feels a hell or a lot smoother to redline.

I paid 1.54.9

not bad I think.

Cheers

I filled up 3.0R Libery I have at the moment with Ultimate at BP Booker just before - $1.54.9 p/l. I paid the same price for 95RON just four days ago!

Just filled my R34 with 98 (Yum! Yum!) and what a surprise went down to $1.54.9 was $1.57.9 yesterday!

Took 50ltrs, so that's $3.00 more for the good stuff! (PULP was $1.48.9) Well worth it!

Its at every site which the exception on BP Newnham and Southbound. BP St Helens won't have it til next week.

As for the price it was going to be 157.9 then 159.9!?!?!? then went down to 154.9. BP had sent through the wrong cost price

I'll try running my baby on 26 psi again and see if it'll handle it on Ultimate, with the right oil pressure, top pistons and the a GOOD driver behind the wheel;) NOT REALLY!!!

Not long now. She should be boostin out of the workshop next week and hopefully it'll make it's first trip down to Hobart for the drifting

    • Harness update time have had great fun and learnt so much already so far with this project. I started off making both the ignition and injector sub harnesses in the hope any mistakes i made here aren't as hard to undo and learn from as the main harness.  A cool comparison of the old harness using presumably TXL wire and the new which is using Tezel. Also opted to use DTM plugs to keep the whole setup as neat and tidy as possible and tucked the wiring under the coil bracket to try and keep it all from sticking out too much. Although the injector harness, I'm not overly happy with as I'm still using the rubber boots that are supplied with the type of plugs it just looks ugly and sticks out like a sore thumb with the white identifiers so a slight redesign may be done.   Then it was main harness time and most importantly trying to route it nice and away from the heat it will use the OEM heater hose routing which is no longer present to keep the harness up high and secure. it's amazing how much smaller this harness is able to be compared to the old one. plugged everything into the emtron and with the help of the tuner again attempted to start it up and instantly fired up and running smoothly on all 6 which was a big shock to myself. So still some routing and adjusting to be done for the final fit up and installing a knock sensor harness plug which is in the post all has gone surprisingly well.     The old harness for shits and giggles.
    • They do that at random every now and then, with almost no detectable cause. Mine has done it a couple of times (over 25 years!!). Never worked out why.
    • I don't post on here and have been lurking for some time now. Many of the topics have helped me out more times than i can count. I was racing yesterday (11/9) and blew a front right CV shaft. I have spares so I popped a new one in. A thread i read previously said to check the engine mounts if you blow a front CV. Upon inspection, the front right mount was completely separated from the upper plate. This discovery saved me time and money, because i would have blown another CV if i went back out. Just wanted to thank you guys and wish everyone luck with with their builds. (Now if we could only come up with a solution for my power steering belt flying off after hitting the rev limiter, lol)
