Gday peoples, i want to put in a relocator for my gtr. Im pretty keen on the Trust/Greddy edition but wondering what other kids have experienced when installing and using?

Are the "universal fit" and cheaper relocation and cooler combos worth having a look at?

Any help would be sweet. Cheers

TBee I have a UAS one sitting on my bench waiting for me to work out how to attach it to the wheelarch.

It looks well manufactured and the hose fittings appear sturdy, but the proof is in how well it seals and I'll have to learn that the hard way. :D

FWIW

by the way, could you use an old transmission cooler instead of buying a gucci name-brand oil cooler? I've seen plenty of guys selling auto trans coolers at $30. They do the same thing right? Just trans oil has a higher viscosity...?

Thats the problem I had and I couldn't find anyone with answers or pictures so I sold my GREX (Trust/GReddy) kit.

Good luck with that :D

oil related parts are not something to stinge on as if the tranny cooler end tank blows off or something then u wont have an engine for long, that goes for cheap fittings as well, i'd never trust anything except braided screw in fittings.

i've read on these forums of a few peoples hoses blowing off and engine dumps all the oil and engine siezes in a very short space of time without oil :D

ive been told to stay away from the china oil filter kits too as those fittings are not the best quality either.

saving a hundred bucks now can cost you thousands in the long run

D'oh...

I'm thinking about putting the bolts through from the wheelarch into the engine bay, rather than just screwing into the metal and hoping it stays put. Nearly a year later and I'm still not in the mood for that job... ;)
