240dreams
I'm having constant issues with getting my car to run properly. It's a S1 Rb25det in a S13. It feels like my car is pulling timing under any load over ~25% throttle. I've checked my coil packs and I sealed and taped them up already. I'm currently running without the factory boost solenoid. The wires for the solenoid are open and dangling in my engine bay right now. So that means I'm running whatever the wastegate is set to which I believe is 7psi. Does eliminating the boost solenoid from the system throw the ECU off and sets it in R&R mode? B/c I honestly feel like it's doing so. I also have another issue with my fuel mixtures. I'm running a Walboro fuel pump on a completely stock fuel system. So I think I'm overloading my stock fuel regulator. I'm going to check fuel pressure tomorrow to see if it's playing any part in this mess. Thanks for any tips. ricsvtr
If you have disconnected the solenoid and dont have another boost controller installed you will only run 5psi. the purpose of the solenoid is to bleed off some air to the wastegate actuator once you reach a certain rpm to allow the turbo to spin up to 7psi. when i first got my car i noticed that i was only running 5psi and was wondering what was going on. i found out that it was because the boost controller i had in it was completely closed off therefore only running at the wastegate actuator spring pressure of 5psi. lots of ppl think its has a 7psi spring but thats not true. I dont know if this will help much with your problem tho.... mad082
yeah as he said the stock wastegate is 5psi. if you are getting ricn and retard mode you will know about it. it is a sudden dead spot. and the is no way you would be able to get it on the stock wastegate unless you were running a monster turbo. if your stock regulator is stuffed then the fuel pressure may be to much for it. you say you have checked the coils, but have you checked the plugs? are you getting any stuttering when under load? also if someone has played with the crank angle sensor and tried to adjust the timing then that may be part of the problem. the only real way to test to see if it is running rich is on a dyno, unless you happen to have a wideband o2 sensor. 240dreams
I set my timing to 15 degress BTDC. My plugs are gapped to .8mm Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/125203-question-about-boost-solenoid-and-rich-and-retard/#findComment-2314200 Share on other sites
bbe
why do u think there is problems with mixtures and the solenoid disconnected wont change much at all besides the boost 5psi would feel mighty slow all thou mine unplugged runs 8 so ! on that low of boost it would feel like the timing is out u could advance it so much more on low boost it would feel better then Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/125203-question-about-boost-solenoid-and-rich-and-retard/#findComment-2315555 Share on other sites
