hey ppls

in the last few weeks ive noticed when i take my foot off/put my foot on the clutch it makes a loud squeeking noise..

At first i sprayed some WD40 stuff on the spring thingy that connects to the clutch pedal and all the parts that go along with it inside the car.. That fixed the problem completely for a day or 2.

Then it came back so i decided to carefull spray grease on the diff areas to see exactly what was making the squeeking noise... ive ended up spraying everything again in heaps of WD40 stuff and its stll making the noise :) Im pretty sure its coming from outside the car now.

i did a search for 'squeek' and 'squeak' :) but didnt come up with any results for the clutch, so any help would be great pls cause im not in the mood to pay a workshop to fix the problem just yet as i had a new clutch put in recently about 2 months ago, and i've only done like 1500km or so if that makes any differance... But like i said the noise only started happening the last couple of weeks.

I barely evan drive my car these days but seem to be getting more issues then when i used to drive it heaps :)

also i dont no if this is relevant but since i had my new clutch installed (clutch, pressure plate, and bearing) its had this rattling noise which stops when the clutch is pressed. A few people have told me its the clutch fork rattling due to the clutch not being installed 1000% correctly or something ?

never mind ppls... after an hour of searching for something totaly irrelevant i came up with what i was after :)

i did what it said though and lubed up the clutch fork with some grease on a stick to get it in there real good... didnt do squat however :)

I sprayed under the dash about 5 times... a month apart each time... now it's been OK for 3 months... so I dunno... it was definately under the dash for me.

As for the rattle... mine does it. I heard that it means "your box is old and worn". lol. I've had a new clutch, carrier bearing, carrier, spigot, pivot blah blah blah... all changed.

Yer... I was using silicone spray, which should stay there longer, but I really think it needs grease.

I didn't know exactly where it was coming from, so I didn't grease anything up.

If I could push the clutch with my hand, I could have probably pinpointed the noise with my head under the dash or something. Even if you drop the clutch slave cylinder off the box, I don't think you would get the noise, because it seems to need load on the pedal to do it.

hmm i just put like handfuls and handfuls on grease everywhere that could be making the noise..still made the noise... went for a 20 min drive... cursed for a bit cause i figured it still wasnt fixed... turned down the radio and the squeek seems to have gone :)

Im sure it will no doubt be back in the next 15 mins but im pleased for now atleast :)

LOL... well, I think it's better if you can get someone sitting in the passenger seat to push the pedal for you (over the centre console, so they're not in your way), while your head and hand is under the dash greasing up the clutch-rod and spring.

I sprayed on the last occasion, and then kept pumping the clutch about 20 times. It went away.

Common problem.. yet no solution.. PAIN IN THE ASS.. mine comes and goes.. no idea..

my clutch makes a squeekn noise 2, but im pretty sure its the slave cylinder i had my sister sitting in the car presing the clutch in/out and hy head under the car its deffentley comming from the slave or what its pushing against.

The thing I found that works really well is Motorcycle Chain Lube. Get one of those little extention tube things ( that usually are stuck in the lid of the degreaser cans ) to get some reach. It sprays on as a foam, and then quickly liquifies and runs into all the little nooks and crannys. Once it soaks in, give it a bit more and then run the pedal through it's paces.

WARNING !! Chain Lube is mega sticky stuff ( has to be to stay on a bike chain at a zillion revs ) so put some old towels all around the footwell area so none gets on your carpet and cover your pedal pads.

i know my squeak is coming from either the pivot bolt (in the gearbox) or the slave cylinder. been too lazy to fix it. i know its definately under the car as its much louder in maccas drive thru. another cause can be the spring on the clutch fork where it goes onto the throw out bearing.
