Guest FlyGuy
Like INSTANT said pay for the tow. If they have offered to look at it then be thankful. After it all gets fixed, then argue that you should be reimbursed for the tow. And take someone that has age and experience with you. Someone at least 40+, if your young they will **** with you. chopobo
ok just came back from vickiis place again i took him there and showed him the car and he has arranged tow truck tomorrow morning at 8.30am and he also knows the jack tower guy, such a coincidence anyways he said it would be impossible for the nuts to go loose because he took it to a proper tyre shop and they put on the wheels with the stud gun so it would be super tight. i think someone must of tried to take my wheels or something. i dunno. he said hes gonna put in lock nuts for me and also change the body kit and change the whole left side brake rotor. so it should all be good. anyways im feeling alot better now thanks for the support guys i think i will come tomolo to drive ins can anyone pick me up and come with me to meet vickii at 5.30 at glenny? :burnout: Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/12547-really-bad-shit-happened-tonight/page/3/#findComment-230281 Share on other sites
Al
Buddy, i have not meet you personally, but i consider everyone a friend on this forum, so please do NOT take this the wrong way. You only have owned this car for one week, and in that week i have read more than 3 threads listing various problems with the car. Unfortunately when it comes to business there is no friends, i know i have been burnt badly once b4 and never again (there is only a close circle of 4 or so friends that i would trust with my life, everyone else are friends/mates but not as close [you know what i mean]). While you have the chance take the car to a proper mechanic, who knows his 'lines. Compile a list of faults, hazards etc., then contact a solicitor and see where you stand as a consumer, b4 you are 6 feet under. Something really DODGY is going on! and it is up to you to set it right. For the nuts to keep on coming loose, after you have tightened them, tells me that they didn't put the proper nuts back on when they replaced the rims. No offence but who would try to steal stanard rims. Their excuse does not stick, as you tightened the nuts and after 15min of driving they almost came off again. MAN, GET IN TOUCH WITH A LAWER, AS THE LAW IS ON YOUR SIDE, YOU JUST NEED TO KNOW HOW TO USE IT!! FRIENDSHIP WENT OUT THE DOOR, WHEN YOU WERE SOLD A CAR THAT COULD HAVE KILLED YOU AND YOUR FRIENDS, GIVEN ANOTHER SINARIO. Glad to hear that you were OK. PS: I live in the West and will be willing to deliver (for loan purposes) a complete set of original nuts and rims (if required), to help you out. Alan C. :0427076490 I have driven on 4 nuts b4, but yours sound faulty so i would not risk it. chopobo
thanks Al for the advice ill think about it if anything still goes wrong ill take action they weren't standard rims, enkei 16" racing rims but they didn't look great enough to steal. but i know this guy, he gets most of the car work done by other companies. He doesn't really do the mechanical work. He said its happened before to him and to another client (supra RZ lost all 4 of its wheels when driving). Well hes willing to fix it and make it better by putting on lock nutz which i assume are impossible to get off by human hands Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/12547-really-bad-shit-happened-tonight/page/3/#findComment-230730 Share on other sites
SKY031
Glad to hear that you're OK chopobo. I saw a nasty accident last night, and when I saw the title of this thread I got a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach. It seems that everyone is forgetting that when you buy a car privately, that the onus is on you to check that there is nothing wrong with it. Once you have the car in your possesion, its upkeep is your responsibility. Once upon a time, I purchased a car that blew a head gasket 3 days after I got it, but I had no comeback, I paid for the car, and I couldn't do a damn thing about it. Even if you buy from a car yard, they will only fix mechanical problems, (and I'm sure they'd find a way to get out of a problem like this one) You are lucky that they are taking care of you so well. And as for the locknuts, theyre just a special type of nut that you need a certain type of socket for (meaning that the regular joe blow on the street can't take them off with his standard tyre iron) Good luck with it all, and hope to see you safely on the road soon! Guest INASNT
yes as al said sumthing seems dodgy about the car u have. I havent had any problems with mine since the day i bought it 2 years ago from an importer. (touch wood) Get all those problems u were talking about checked and fixed at once. Theres alot of didgy shit going on with importers at the moment, see lots of 93 series 1'c with series 2 front ends put on em and importers selling em as 96 models. JAGR33
Hi chopobo, you spoke to me last night about towing your car. Sorry to hear what's happenend but as most people said, it could have been much worse. That price I quoted you last night was taking into consideration it was after business hours (about 7pm), and also the distance (Reservoir to Springvale). I know the importer personally and I'm sure he will fix your car for nothing, it was just unfortunate. Hope you get it fixed by tonight so we can see you there!!!! Cheers Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/12547-really-bad-shit-happened-tonight/page/3/#findComment-230844 Share on other sites
dAVE
Cant commnet on wether the car is dodgy or not as I havent seen it, but i know someone else this happened to. Wheel came off at 80km/h and car came to a nice slow stop on the brake rotor. In the end it only cost about $80 for new rotor and studs. Most important thing is before you go for a drive, always double check. As Skyline chick said, its now your car and your responsbility to look after. good luck Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/12547-really-bad-shit-happened-tonight/page/3/#findComment-230855 Share on other sites
chopobo
yeh thanks JAGR33 it was unfortunate i didn't have enough experience to know the sound was loose nuts other wise it wouldn't of happened. yeah but i dunno how it could of happened. did someone walk up to my car and start loosening the nuts trying to take the wheel or something or could it be railway tracks, cos i know i took went over some railway tracks at like 40-50, quite a bump. But i've never heard of wheels falling of because of that. he said should be able to get the car done by wednesday-thursday gotta replace the whole brake rotor, change to lock nuts, replace front bar(front lip is falling apart) and side skirt and fix all the lil electrical problems i told him about. well ill be rocking up tonight with vickii. and maximus and sniffy. anyone else want to meet up? DavidU
If you check the road worthy cert,it will say which wheels were removed during the brake inspection. If it happens to be the wheel that came off, there is your proof that the inspection mechanic was THE LAST person to tighten (or not) your wheel nut's. The RWC form is a legal document ! good luck Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/12547-really-bad-shit-happened-tonight/page/3/#findComment-231002 Share on other sites

Guest kws
Lawrence, never wanted to say anything to knock van.. but i've had friends buy cars from him... and they all have had realyl really serious problems.. .which is why i personally would not buy a car from him. They are usually really really low grade beat up cars from jap... which have been in big accidents etc, and he just spends time getting them back to looking ok...some of them are half cuts etc etc. I just hope that yours isnt one of them... Anyway, glad to hear your car is getting fixed up -Greg Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/12547-really-bad-shit-happened-tonight/page/3/#findComment-232487 Share on other sites

makaveli
Hey Chop don't worry bout the swearing you should have heard me just from a dead battery. I have experience a knocking before in the front and hated driving my car wit it. I got it looked at and I needed to get the wheel bearing changed, that cause a huge flat spot in my front tyre which was causing knocking also. I think the knocking of the wheel caused the nuts to come off, coz ur description of the knocking is similar to what happened to me. I would get the wheel bearing checked man, any ways good luck with everything. It makes me so sad to hear of a skyline getting injured Makaveli Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/12547-really-bad-shit-happened-tonight/page/3/#findComment-234042 Share on other sites
