Headlight Covers

Can some one help me please, my headlight covers are yellow and im just wondering whats the best method and products to clean em.

do a search. this has been discussed before. Use Meguiars plastic X, but u will come up with better answers on a search...

How old is your skyline? This generally happens with age. There is a guy on the gold coast who sands/polishes headlights for all types of imports. If your interested hit me with a PM and ill get his name and number for you.

I've heard of toothpaste being used but that doesn't make sense as the composition doesn't seem right.

Brasso might do the trick. Works on polishing most other plastic

Wait a min, if the scratches are inside, you have to undo the whole headlight assembly right?

Why would they be on the inside? I'm not saying you're wrong, I just don't understand

I don't believe they are scratches.. he said that they were yellow..

Most of the time I believe this is on the inside of the plastic..

If it's scratches - either use mcguiars scratch x + something finer.. than buff the bejesus out of it..

I posted recently regarding this and I started doing them.. you can use wet/dry if they are really bad.. but start with something as fine as you can..

Yes it's turning a tint yellow. Is it easy to take out the whole assembly?

NO...its looks that way but its just the outside......use what the ppl have said here to try before you cause yourself to take it out and then find you didnt need to. i also tried some really good metal polish last weekend and thats going ok.....

i used megguire's scratch x and a buffing disc for a drill. took about 20 seconds a light. came up really well, and doesn't matter if you get it on your paint.
