G'day,

Thought id put a post up in this forum as i am having trouble with my Wolf 2D ECU. I bought my new car (a 280zx) just last week, and the battery has lost its charge due to what i think is a faulty alternator (battery is brand new). As a result my ECU has gone a bit spastic and all the settings are all over the place. Just hoping someone could give some help as to what to do, if its a common problem with wolf ecu's etc. The car needed a tune anyway but the ecu is now so out of wack the car wont start. Tossing up whethere i should input some basic settings so it will start and then get it properly tuned, or whether i may need a new ECU whcih isn't gonna pack it in again so easily. I rang the 'Wolf' people out in bayswater and they wanted $44 to check if the ecu is working ok. that may be a good option as i dont want to spend lots of money having it tuned then it reset on me again.

(I think theres a pic of the car somewhere is this forum put up by brycey when it was stolen from the previous owner)

I've asked around at some Zed sites (VicZcar and NewcastleZeds) but not much help so far. any suggestions would be appreciated.

cheers.

dave.

dave,

I have a wolf 4d ecu in my skyline and the battery has gone flat numerous times as well as the battery being disconnected for various work. Never has the ecu 'lost' its settings and I would be surprised if this was the case in your situation.

I'd find out who tuned it last and see if you can compare the current settings with the last tune they did.

well maybe it had nothing to do with the battery going flat, as since ive had it, the battery has been completely disconected and it was fine, so maybe they are 2 completely seperate problems.

I very much doubt the current settings have anything to do with the last tune as most of them are set to the max they can be, (ie rev limiter is over 31000, and most of the others are at 99).

I just got an email from matt who i bought the car off and he said he has the settings which the previous owner wrote down after the tune was done. so ill get them off him, put them in and see how she goes. and If it does it again, then... i dont know... maybe its time for a better ECU.
