I recently bought a 32 in Japan and was told that my loan money would be ready in two days to be wired over. after two days I called up and asked the bank and they said that it wasnt ready and that they would call back the next day. After no call, I called them and they said that it still wasnt ready. After TWO weeks of telling me that its still not ready but its coming, I go down and they tell me that theyve lost my contracts. I asked what theyve been doing for the past two weeks and they say looking for the lost contracts. so they could have told me that they lost them and I could have resigned them and it would be ok but they lied about it. Now for people who havent borrowed from a bank, you have to sign contracts and get a lawyer to witness it, which isnt cheap. a mate of mine who is also borrowing was quoted $250 by a lawyer to be a witness. luckily for me our family lawyer didnt charge us anything, but the next person might have to fork out more cash. during this period, im getting emails saying that the buyer is waiting for his money and that the car wont move until he gets it. finally the money arrives and he books a time for shipping. meanwhile i get my import approval and it says that the plate has to be on the vehicle by 12 midnight 7th may. this freaks me out cause when i did the numbers in my head, my car wasnt going to make it in time, so i get onto the importer. after i bought the car i forked out another 1000 yen to have it moved to a container shipping yard, and it turned out that the next available container ship wont arrive here until april 30, too late to do compliance etc. so its now coming by car carrying ship, which is more prone to getting things stolen and i cant get insurance if it sinks. plus the 1000 yen to move it is down the drain. all this happened because National Australia Bank is too incompetant to not loose a piece of paper, and then covered up their stupidity with lies and deception. On top of this when i first applied for the loan they gave me the wrong forms and we had to do that twice as well. how stupid can you be? these people are payed to help people apply for loans and they cant even do that properly!

A big thanks goes out to Geoff Risbey at Prestige Motorsport for helping me out and being understanding. Top bloke and I highly recomend him

After all this, at least my car is going to get here, and thats all that really matters.:P

Sorry to hear your story. Hope your R32 gets here in no more delay and don't get into much trouble under the new regulation.

We (parents & I) had a home loan with Commonwealth, had a similar bad experience with HSBC when applying home loan 3 yrs ago where we end up getting threaten to be reported to credit rating authority if we don't pay the $125 processing fee, which we misunderstood from the contract wording. My dad was led to believe that we didn't have to pay anything if we refuse their offer, but the contract stated in a way that we still have to pay that bloody $125 even though we refuse their offer! That's one of the reasons why I never open an account with HSBC till now.

And for my current personal loan, I'm with St George..... :P

INASNT .. u know me well :P ... i was just going to say how ****ed up the banks are ... i can go on and on and on about them ... but theres no point .. if u can't say something nice then don't ****ing say anything is my motto now :P ... anyways i've had a few good experiences with banks lately so i guess their service can still be good ... with exceptions ... i still don't agree with them overcharging us for fees etc for over withdrawel and withdrawel from diff banks ... i got my loan from westpac without no troubles ... took a bit longer than usual but that was party cause of their system ... and the other day i did something stupid ... took some money from the atm and took the card and not that money LOL how stupid ... you all can stop laughing now heheh ... anyways next day i called and told them the situation ... they counted the money in the atm and found my money still there and gave it back ... so yeah they can be sometimes good ... :D ... but in the above example for aybee that is ... well he has every right to complain and he deserves at least and apology from the NAB ... just my 1.5cents worth :D

I don't understand why you can't bag some ass-backwards, dodgy workshop on this forum for fear of legal action, which would never happen anyway, but you can hang it on large corporations like banks which have a history of suing people that defame them........it doesn't make sense!!

We all know the banks sukk....we need to know who the dodgy fuccks are!!

Glad I got that off my chest

aybee: because as soon as you bag a workshop on this forum the moderators edit or delete it. I'm not having a go at the moderators but I don't understand why they are scared of small time operators like importers/compliancers/workshops but they are happy to have people slag of banks.

Has anyone ever heard of a forum or website being sued or shut down for someone stating a real life experience....if you can do it on TV or in the press why not on the net???

I agree we should be able to let other Skyline owners know who are the businesses not to use.

seems logically but i think we can thank the legal system for why we can't post dodgy importer ppl. Something about SAU being liable and there for shutdown, it's a WHOLE SAU thing... but don't quote me as i'm not sure. I'm sure Prank can give ya an answer.

well why not have a list of good workshops etc and list the names of the people who can vouch for them?? then if they're not on the list, let people ask about them, so that they can be pm'd about them. also its good to have a quick reference for people to see other mechanics and workshops out there to compare prices/quality of service, and if the mechanic is not there than people can assume that they're not as good as the ones listed. we can then ask for those mechanics/workshops to give us SAU discounts YEAH!!!! :)

    • it takes so long to get things done but ... they are nearly there and we hitting the track soon again  So - at Perth Festival of Speed the car unfortunately had a decent off, wasnt me driving, wasnt the person drivings fault. Long story short car got sent very fast towards the wall without the control on throttle from the driver input and a disaster was averted but there was damage that needed to be fixed - carbon busted and alot of bent bits The splitter got munched and had to go back to get fixed - took a bit to get it there, fixed and back but got a surprise package when a new double element higher DF splitter came back - nice surprise !  and first person to have one     At a car show I took the car too some punks stole one of my carbon indicator blanks and stomped on the other so had to get a new set of headlight / indicator combo from tops stage so got front fender vents as well to put in the order     While all this was happening the new MCA golds turned up and did some fiddling around with those   Put in the flappy paddle system and clutch lockout wiring/ system   We have also put shorter gearing in top top it out at 300 kmph in 6th gear  where previously I held 5th to 282 at SMP and 277 in Perth   Looking for better control and faster acceleration     I wasnt intending on doing pedal box I was managing with the brake master replacement system I had going on and adjusted std pedals but on applying the clutch switch to the old system we found the *insert technical word here * bar that goes from the pedal to the master was bent about 40 deg and about to snap = lucky find otherwise be a bad bad time - discussion was had about getting a custom bar built to withstand the load but in reality it was time      making any suspension, wheel or anything adjustments to date has been a nightmare - aero off, adjust, check and repeat - time consuming and hard - short of going full airjack system we fashioned some external manual car lifts this will make life a million times easier     All the bent framing, some intercooler pipes and other has been fixed and replaced and after 6 months I finally have the car back at home in my control so its get to work on it, set ride heights, wheel align and will start track testing again soon   So ultimately other than a few flashy bits nothing actually looks likes its been done but in reality alot has. Typical   We'll see how all this goes
    • I'm far from an expert, but for sticking bits of metal together occasionally I got a MIG, the biggest one I could get with a 10a plug (because while I have some 15a GPOs around, they are not everywhere).  Also, because I get through SFA, I just buy the small disposable gas bottles at Bunnings, I'm not opening a BOC account to get through 1/10th of a full size bottle each year
    • FWD is different though.
    • Ignore the BOV / recirc valve question. You have an NA and shouldn't have one. If there magically is one though... It should be removed, though it shouldn't really effect it in the way one will for a turbo motor with it venting to atmosphere while running an afm.
