Hard to beat a Macgill day, even with the little rocketships sharing the track I still managed to do 250km on the track - two tanks of fuel though - glad I don't have to buy that stuff every day.

Top marks to Liz and Yogi, you both drove really well, with decent tyres you would be outta sight!

Thanks again for arranging the day Paul! (and for the beer afterwards)

thanks simon!

bloody awesome day once again.. i gave that XR6 T driver a piece of my mind at the end of the day... I don't think he took too well to me calling his car a boat lol.

thanks for organising paul, i'll definately be in for the next one!

ok lol....i had a bit of a head to head with him in the last 8 lap race.... he held me up for a few laps then i tried to over take him on the straight... were side by side at about 190 just before the kink.. well he was slightly ahead of me and started cutting across and cut me off and held me up for yet another lap.. but after we pitted he finished at least a few seconds ahead of me anyway.

but mcgill thought it'd be funny to get us together for a bit of slaggin afterwards.

was one of the highlights of my day though! lol

johnny, you seem awful quiet today. dont tell me jason wound up the boost on you?? hehe. back to the drawing board. time for some more GTR parts me thinks.

had a top day until the oil pump let go but any way we will be back soon would have been good if john pushed the boat a little harder as he was slowing me down as everyone could see when we came down the straight and the gtr pulled past so john when is our next shoot out cant wait and do you want me to leave my full street tyres on again like yesterday :)

Hey Richard Barron been busy. Jason and I finally got out together and had a top battle and yes let him get past on a corner as it was getting a bit dangerous with much slower cars, then I overtook him cleanly a few laps later. Through John Webb Porsche driver in the car and was hammering down the straight with Jason and, well the zed kept going. I had good slicks on front but very old and hard rear slicks and was rediculous, and yes Jason got away from me coming onto the straight especially as I was wheel spinning like a champion and had to short shift, same at end of straight but would catch up over dog leg and down the hill under brakes. Will have some half decent slicks next time out and will have some after this weekend round at Oran with the Porsche cup on.

    • Strength. And on the early RB26, full engagement of the pump drive.
    • I really don't understand the point of aftermarket oil pumps if your particular engine doesn't need more oil pressure. As far as I can make sense of it the problem seems to be cavitation from sucking air, maybe the pump gear design with how it interfaces with the OEM crank, and maybe the backing plate screws wanting to loosen themselves. How does flowing more oil fix these issues?
    • More photos are up, and the price has been dropped to $16,000. It's just had a service and a new 12V battery, too.
    • I agree on doing some better than factory pistons, rods, and oil pump. For anyone using the vehicle on the road, I don't get why everyone wants big cams. The stock cam profile, with some more lift would be mint for road usage. Everyone going big cams and then wondering why it isn't as responsive in traffic, when they've shifted the torque curve upwards an additional 1000RPM. Make torque, at lower RPM. Sure it's not as cool as claiming "500KW" and revving it to 8,0000RPM, but that same torque 2,000RPM earlier... Then you don't need the extremely high end pistons and rods, and blah blah blah.
    • Personal experience. Those f**kers burn. And are actually a PITA to put out. Next time I walk down the back, I'll snap a photo of what the inside of the bonnet looks like when that thing ignites. PS, powder fire extinguishers are useless on that stuff too as it's fibrous and when it ignites, it starts to pull apart. And you end up just blowing powder through a sieve effectively.   Like the big thing is, if it's fire resistant, it's job is to stop what burning? The METAL above it? It's just to try keep heat off the bonnet paint work.
