Stock Turbo Heat Shield

Howdy,

Just got a '97 series 2 r33. I'm still running stock turbo. My mate had a look at my car and told me I'm missing the stock turbo heat shield . Anyone else missing theirs? What are possible problems this could cause? :

If your worried about it go to a 2nd hand parts place and pick yourself up one. Two of my friends are running with out there heat shield and havent come across any problems. 1 is a 33 and the other a Laurel.

When my mate put his car in to fit dump pipe they took it off and forgot to put it back on, he didnt notice till i pointed it out and he went back and they fitted it back on. But while it was off he noticed no diff. But there was not hot weather during the time. If the engineers at Nissan saw fit to put in a heat shield then im sure they did so for a reason.

If you can pick one up second hand it shouldnt be too expensive, but not a huge issue i wouldnt think..
