dont the r34 gtt's make 206kw.. same as gtr?

and rwd.. (more fun) .. hehe

but.. the bad part.. is..

getting power from a gtr is easier.. (tt)

and getting power from a gtt is more costly.. more money.. and gotta like strengthen internals i guess.. hmm.. not too sure about it..

Heres 2 options;

Buy an R33 GTR... spend all my allocated money. Get it on the road, tracking and reg'd and thats it.

OR

Buy an R34 GTT... a fair bit cheaper, save some cash, maybe buy some mods and put the rest of the $$$ into my house... basically, save some money and buy a newer car (but a lesser car).

What would you do and why?

exactly - (not to mention its stupidly and infintely cooler - and rarer. i mean, look at the plethora of 33GTsts on the roads now - me included - what if this happens with 34's too?) however, either is an awesome car, and im sure youll have a stupidly large smile plastered on your face 24/7 either way.

.....im jealous....

What do you mean move to new servers?

as far as I'm concern, isn't this forum hosted on the same machine as the SDU forum too (the nz one).

I traced it and both end up to the same server! That gala.endsurfer.com thing!

SAU & SDU even share the same IP, if the ISP told you they moved you to different server and charge you $$$ for it, maybe you should take it up to them as these two forums r not going anywhere and the ISP is just pocketing your $$$

err yeh thanx for that rs73...let's just keep to the topic huh? I'm sure Prank knows what he's doing :D well pretty sure anyway lol :D

anyway...I would get the R34. It's such a personal choice though Christian, and you gotta get what you really want...and that would be the GTR it seems :D

My choice of the R34 is because I LOVE the look of them, and also because I don't want the 'hassle' of owning a GTR...worrying about it getting stolen all the time...insurance....etc...

and if an R34 is cheaper and you can put some money into your house...all the better (I'm in the same situation!). Life's not ALL about cars...ooops shouldn't say that on here :P

My heart says a R34 GTR , my head says a pushbike and a house but there is plenty of time to buy a house Prank

You KNOW you want a GTR.

Get a R32 in good nick , keep it std , will depreciate minimally if at all and still get the house.

By the time you pay the house , we will be driving electric cars and big brother will be watching everything.

Cheers

Ken

iuhhh.... :P theres this little phenomena known as dns propogation. the database and forums have moved to a new server baka.endsurfer.com. And instead of blocking everyone from the forums until their isp's dns cache updates to the new address, i have allowed the forums on gala.endsurfer.com to use the database residing on the new server.

the post order fsckup were due to a slight time sync issue between the two servers, which has been resolved.

edit: i voted for the GTT, sweet cars ;)

Prank,

Whatever your choice, you've chosen a skyline and good on ya for that.....

A modded R34Gtt may have the same power output as a stock GTR, but less traction

Do you remember driving NOZILR in the wet?

For the safety and driving pleasure for you and Ur family, get a GTR.

or you could end up like me buying a GTST and kicking myself ever since:)

WRITTEN AND AUTHORISED BY THE SHIFT: GTR OWNERS PARTY:D

I now have myself a very similar car to that in JAGR33's avatar. :P a silver GTR. ;)

well... i pick it up next week. :) :)

thanks for all your comments/votes.

and rs73 - thanks, but yeah it was under control.

I wouldn't mind R34 GT-T, as it's a newer car, and the NEO RB25 DET engine already has 206kw factory claimed output to start with. With a lighter body shell compared to GT-R, any decent power upgrade would be noticeable, and I don't have to drive a super quick car on the road as mainly using the car to drive to work everyday. R33 GT-R and R34 GT-T could be a tough choice, but if it's late R33 GT-R, go the GT-R (like 97 model or newer). But if it's the R34 GT-R we're talking about, then it's the R34 GT-R then. But price is the deterrent factor, I need that single jackpot tatslotto win then I'll buy a nice R34 GT-R :P

    • Hi soviet_merlin, We appreciate your concern regarding this possibly being some sort of PR/Political hype, I assure you that is not the case, I wish we could claim something like that, but in this case, we merely reached out for comment on the basis of the outrage we too felt, as those heavily in the automotive industry. Ps. the original source in the social media post is CarExpert not CarExplore.    Best, CE.
    • Made a bit of a discovery, but while I was cruising, I randomly decided to test to see if it worked and it showed up on my IC7. The entire time I tested it before, I never thought to turn the ignition on. I only tested it with head lights turned on but with the ignition off. Huge oversight on my end. I’m a dummy. I know.
    • G'day all, I have drilled and tapped the hole for the relocation of the timing belt tensioner. That was straight forward. I'm unsure if I need to also put another hole for the smaller stud that the spring behind the tensioner catches on (this is how it seems to work in its original spot). Or do you not use the spring behind it and just torque it down? Thanks in advance, I did a search but couldn't find anything related and it doesn't mention it in the rb30det sau guide.
    • Hi All,  just thought I would provide an update as I know smooth (Matt) was on this forum from 2003.    my brother Matthew passed away end of may 2024 at the age of 41 from liver failure. I am not sure how many of his original team krazy friends are still on here or active but thought it reasonable to let the forum know.    if you have any photos or pictures it would be great if you could share them.    it took me a while to work out he was active on here.    thanks so much
