Anyone wanna see a turbo Busa vs a 1000hp Skyline??? Come on, I've seen the vid you're talking about and the bike is stock/near stock and the 'line has the baps worked off it - hardly an even match. Turbo the Hayabusa though and things get interesting!

There is a drag 'Busa that makes 562rwhp, or a fully street regged one making 450rwhp and both weighing under 300kg with rider, care to line those up? These are just the ones that I know of, there may be even more insane ones. In the Ghost Rider video, he has one with 417hp, and he pops the front wheel at an indicated 320km/h. Methinks that the GTR, as much as I love them, would be seriously outclassed...

All that said, when did we ever say that "every bike will beat every car"? A bog stock litre sportsbike will annihilate just about any bog stock car though - even things like a $2m McLaren F1 will be beaten in a straight line by a $18k GSXR-1000 for example. Work the car and they get an advantage. Work the bike and, given a suitably insane rider, it will own nearly any car on the road.

Your argument is stupid to say the least. The HKS R33 is damn quick, but a Top Fueller is heaps quicker, therefore the HKS GTR isn't that quick. Makes sense...

I've got a few mates that have bikes (damn nice ones too), and I can understand why they get them. Me, well I like the idea of turning the heater on when it's minus 10 outside.

But yeah - they are two totally different things.

Agreed, that's sort of what I was getting at with the GTR vs Fueller comment.

Jay - that's one of the main reasons I still have the car For me, the experience of riding a bike far outweighs any slight discomfort issues (particularly on long trips - ouch) but I do still like to have the option of being comfy.

I've found the best way is to see how many times he's changed by 100km/h - in the late-model sportsbikes, if you hear them change before then (maybe once), they aren't trying Mine indicates 134km/h on the rev limiter in first and 188 in second, that should give an indication as to how tall the gearing is.

Think about it though, if traffic is massively banked up and your bike is capable of moving through 200m of stationary cars, you're not going to wait at the back of the line when you can safely get through, I'd just be worried if the cars started moving halfway through.

I even move over for motorbikes so they have room to get past. Not only does that limit the chances of your car getting hit but it does not hold them up either. I always get a wave of appreciation if I do this.

Do you remember that bloke who was decapertated on his bike whilst racing a car down Roseville Bridge when the car clipped him. Make sure you aren't the person who could cause this!!!!!!!!!!!

i have never riden a bike, but if i did i'd probably lane split - isn't that the point of a bike - so you can go in bus lanes and get to the front of traffic jams?

the only thing that shits me is harleys with loud exhausts, i really hate them. likewise i hate cars with really loud exhausts (but they are never as loud).

i think i bend the rules to the same degree in a car so i can't really complain

I think the problem is that, unofficially, there is one set of rules for bikes and one set for cars. The funny thing is though, that as Timmy G said, it's OK to bend the rules in a car (and damn, have I seen some MAJOR rule-bending), but jump on a bike and you have to ride like you're doing your license test all the time or risk the wrath of cage drivers. Pfft.
