Sounds EXACTLY like what happened to mine a few weeks ago. Series 2 with a bosch 040.....fuel pump crazy loud...fluttering loss of power. Turns out the fuel pump was shagged and was losing fuel pressure ...and this was a 9 month old pump. When I took it out it was all corroded / oxidized. Went cheap and whacked in a stock pump for the moment and all's well. Dunno if I got a dud pump or what but looking for something other than bosch now.

Interesting coincidence. My pump is around 9 months old too. Just happened all of a sudden. Now what should i do? should i buy a Walbro?

take of the coil pac cover and get a multimetre and make sure all read 1.7Ohms...if not it could be one of the coil packs

for the fuel pump, is it easy to remove and check it ? if its makin' a loud noise and never did ur guarenteed thats the issue

if the fuel pump is making noises when it does it then it is going to be something to do with the fuel system. it could possibly be the fuel pressure regulator.

im currently running the stock fuel pressure regulator.

i do however have a Sard Fuel pressure regulator that is not in use. What kind of sealing do i need to use when i connect those 2 pipes (not the fuel hoses) to the regulator? After i connect the fuel regulator, would i need to adjust the fuel pressure or do i just leave it? Cheers.
