Hi all,

i'm probably just being overly cautious here, however, i noticed just before that the sound that my Walbro intank pump makes has changed today.

it is probably only 3 or 4 months old (tops) and it usually makes the normal aftermarket fuel pump whirring noise, yet i noticed just before, when i moved the car, that the noise has changed.

i can't describe how it has changed, other than it being a bit louder, and the noise seems to be a bit 'deeper' in note...

does it sound like anything i should worry about?

paranoid!! take that aluminum foil off your head jason

But on a more constructive note- how much fuel was in the tank?? i assume is an internal pump? dont they get bathed in fuel normally?? if you hadn't much fuel in the tank perhaps thats why it was louder to you??

Depending on how its been secured, it might have moved and its vibrating or the angle changed a bit.

If you feel confident, just pull it out. If it looks ok, put him back in

Also just take it easy on the car. Slowly ramp boost just incase its dying or something and leans out.

If thats ok, dun worry.

If your SUPER paranoid, chuck it on a dyno or get a sensor to stick in the bottom of your car and see what the AFR's do

no offence boys walbro are shitnhousn, go for a HKS or nismo item! Ive had bad expeience with walbro

it has between 1/2 and 1/4 of a tank, so it still has a fair bit of fuel in there (i normally take it down to about 1/4)

i will fill up with petrol on the way home though and see what it's doing...

i might do the fuel pump wiring mod, and get it tuned on the dyno again next week sometime....

Have you removed the factory low/high voltage setup? It could explain it if the sound changes just off idle as the pump gets more power.

But if it's unrelated to the car being stationary or moving then look at the above options.
