Hooray deposit put on my first skyline :)

04/1993 black r32 gts-t Type M, manual.

Car just came out of docks so it hasnt been tuned or complianced.

Some white smoke at startup and the rpm needle was jumping around 5-7000 but engine load remained constant.

Included in car;

Tein shocks, cd/md player, cd stacker in boot, bodykit, hks airpod, a bov?, apexi boost gauge, 3inch catback with 5inch muffler (forgot brand), Aftermarket steering wheel (forgot brand). Condition of car was really good. Dash board had no expanding/shrinkage and barely any bubbles. Seats had no wear at all.

kilometres say 103250 and saw a service sticker on door jam saying 103170.

Car will have full service done at dealer/workshop and then will take to import workshop to get a final test done, compression etc. If any major problems i can cancel deal.

Dealer kept on insisting me to put it up on his hoist and look under. Took some pics of the shocks and everything was straight.

Managed to get price to:

$13250 including:

- 12month rego ~ $500

- RWC

- 1year warranty ~ $600

- Transfer ~ $500

- Fix any misc problems i find.

So about $11600 for the car.

Took the car for a test drive and a police man gave me a dirty look, probably cause i had no rego and heard a bov.

My photography sucks so i didnt manage to get any decent pics, but ill show them anyways.

Any criticism is welcomed, that way i can talk to dealer and get it fixed/resolved. Bad points about the car, flake rust under the spare tyre and on the spare it self. Guess it rubbed onto the rubber. Rust near the battery tray. Engine seems a bit too clean.

The car also comes with a peice of original fabric which can be used to fix any holes which there arent :) and original skyline mats.

Also, dealer said he can install immob and central locking for $200 approved by insurance companies. Should i take his offer? Or buy a decent alarm straight off. Was thinking quiktrak for $1000 from a deal on ns.com

congratulations...looks pretty clean from the photos...

as for tuning...it doesnt appear to have an aftermarket ECU, so it cant really be tuned....dont let them sting you for any "tuning"

you can get the ECU remapped etc though...but just giving you a heads up.

yeah, ur right, engine bay is very clean - id ask him if the panels were changed or not. If they panels have a shiny-ish colour, it most probably has been changed (which means accident perhaps).

Overall though, thats one sexy R32! enjoy bud! :)

Yeah, the headlights seemed to look very new also. All shiney along with the front bar. Will be taking to EAS Performance for a full inspection after the dealer services it. Says compliance will take 5 days, so i should have car by 24th Monday.

Just worried about the illegal items, the bov, gauges and the tein suspension. He said he can swap to stock suspension if I want. We'll see how it goes

Congratulations on your purchase! I see you went with Glam Imports - as i had those pictures sent to me via e-mail when i was looking for an R32. Very nice.

I just went through with them for my 11/92 HCR32 GTS-t Type-M, and got it on the road 2 weeks ago - I'm really happy with it!:

If you have any questions, feel free to ask via PM (i still might have the photos they sent to me of your car in my e-mail).

All the best mate! Can't go wrong with the R32!

Stefce. :)

Congrats mate. :)

Dont take the dealer option for alarm IMO. Get an aftermarket pro one that people recommend. His price seems a bit cheap.

Easiest thing to check for panel replacement is how flush the panels are with one another. Run your finger between the gaps and check the gap doesnt change width.

Enjoy it though mate and it looks a very clean example.

Dealer said I pay $200 for immob and he pays $250. Asked him what brand/model and he said "its not one of those name brand ones for $1000 which do the same job" haha, although it may be time before i can buy a decent alarm...I'll probably sleep in my car then haha.

I dont want to cast aspersions on his alarm but I had one that wasnt up to the job fitted and it went off at random hours of the day. I lived in a quiet neighbourhood with my parents and in the end it had to stay off. My advice if you do get an aftermarket one done, get it fitted at an address other than your home (or where the car will be kept) and any paperwork, give someone elses address, pref another family member incase of warranty issues. Might be a bit OTT but better to be safe than sorry.

Congratulations on your new car. Looks very clean. Good luck. ps my r32 which i sold 2 months ago was as clean as your car, but got ridden off by the new owner :)

damn man, that must have been painful to see or hear!

Anyway, back to the black r32 in question. Check the list made by merli as a means of double checking your new car when it arrives. The after markets will ahve to be removed prior to compliance - and also beware of thieves stealing the smaller items while its on transit. (im assuming the car hasnt arrived in Aust yet)

The first two pics are taken by dealer from japan. Those other pics were taken by me today. The car was picked up from docks on Friday and i went to inspect today (Saturday). Thats why the car was running dodgy as it's been 3months+ before it had been started. Basically he showed me the raw condition of car and any mods on the car before compliance I will keep. He just needed a deposit to start the compliancing.

I took the car for a quick test drive today, and decided to buy.

If the dealer services the car and does all the usual things like oil change etc, they usually use the cheapest oil etc that they can find. My advice would be to either get the car serivced by a different shop and for you to provide such things like good quality synthetic Motul oil, as theres not much point in paying for a service if they are going to use shit products....

otherwise just serivce it yourself/ or a trusted mechanic - and you will be happier with the job & parts used...

anyway, that looks like a very clean 32 you have there :) hope to see you on a sau cruise!

The service is for free but if it wasnt i wouldnt pay. They already doing compliance and rwc so they will try to cut corners already.

I told them that after their free service im taking the car to workshop for compression testing etc, dealer kept on telling me stories of workshops trying to sell their own car blah blah and how racv know nothing. So he should do a good service to stop me finding any problems :P

SAU VIC stickers sitting right next to me, cant wait to stick them on the window hehe

Edit: Also if anyone has FAST can someone check HCR32295103, i tried the fast thread but im..well impatient. haha

he's right about 1 thing.

RACV knows nothing about imports. I had a pre-purchase inspection done with them - and they did nothing but point out visible faults on the car which i had already seen. basically totally wasted $350 :P

the only people that know anything are preformance tuning shops that specialise in imports - eg DrDrift etc...
